Summary: Tex wakes up from being dead and she greeets a very upset Church.

Tex's eyes fluttered open to the sounds of a loud deep sigh. It took her a while for her eyes to adjust to her surroundings. Tex lifted herself up rather quietly, leading back against the wall. She seemed to be tucked in tight, with more blankets over her that usual. Managing to pull her arm out from underneath the sea of blankets to rub her head, she let out a small sigh. Headaches weren't exactly the best thing to wake up to, neither was aching bones. Tex took a quick look around the room, her eyesight was still not perfect, but she could make out the shapes clearly. One shape in particular standing at the window; Church. Why he was standing around moping she had no idea, Tex figured that maybe she slept far too long and most likely forgot that they made plans to go out somewhere. It wasn't her fault, if he had just woken her up then none of this would have happened.

Then it hit her. It had nothing to do with plans or going anywhere together. It was her death. The black armored Spartan felt a strong flood of emotions over come her, something she couldn't really keep inside. But- Church had still not noticed she was awake or yet alive. So maybe she should surprise him, make him stop moping. Because she really didn't want a sad puppy following her trails all day, so maybe cheering him up would be the best idea.

So much was said when she died, so much that she never thought she would ever hear come out her own mouth. The words "I love you too" was the first and that she was sorry for everything was another. She never thought she would say the word love out loud, she always kept it to herself. When being a solder normally others who are stronger and have more force use normally use loved ones as a shield to get what they want. To keep Church safe, she never made it visible that she did have strong feelings for him. Even at that, being connected to him in some way. But- here she feels that she can show all that, all that she never got to do when they were back home or in Blood Gulch. She knew that this place would most likely change her life and his as now they can actually be together, all she had to do was not repent her sins and she should be fine. Easy enough, she wasn't planning on repenting any god damned sins.

When she saw him cry the night she died, she felt something deep, deep, deep down inside her snap. Tex had never seen him in that state before, ever. It just made her feel upset, she felt it. Some emotion she never ever had apart from her first death. But- Her second death was much worse, he cried, he held onto her, he said the words she always wanted to hear and was just there for her.

Feeling all this deep down, she quietly removed the covers from her body and all she could do was say thanks for putting her in nothing but one of his shirts and her underwear. Couldn't he have maybe put trousers on her? then remembering this was Church, Tex figured it would just be the best to hit him later for it. Using her training, the Freelancer walked up silently behind what she hopes was Church and not Tucker, at least if it was Tucker she could throw him out the window. Reaching right behind him, she wrapped her arms around his stomach holding onto him tightly, resting her head on his shoulder.

"And here I thought you would be the one doing the welcoming. Next time, I'm not getting my hopes up."
