Who: Isuzu "Rin" Sohma and Akasuna no Sasori
When: September 12
Where: The clock tower
Rating: Let's say PG-13. I mean, it is Sasori... ._.
Warnings: Sasori
Summary: Sasori and Rin meet so that Sasori can show her his parents to help her decide if she wants him to make a puppet of Hatsuharu Sohma. Note: Sasori calls her 'Bella' because 'Isuzu' means 'little bell'.

Carrying two life-size puppets through the streets was no easy task. Had Sasori his chakra manipulation, were he able to make strings out of his very energy, he could have controls the puppets, to make them walk beside him with minimum effort on his part. As it was, he had to go slowly, with one under each arm. He had wrapped them up in some cloth he had found when the gods granted them their material desires; he did this because he knew that, with his height, he would not be able to avoid their dragging on the ground, despite his best efforts to prevent it. He also did it because the two puppets were more important than life to him.

When Sasori was young, his parents, both shinobi of the village Sunagakure - village hidden in sand, Sunaga for short - had died in a war. He had been lonely and depressed when his paternal grandmother, Chiyo, had taught him how to make puppets. His first project was to make puppets of both his parents, based on photographs he had in his room. He had been young and naive; he had only wanted their arms around them, he wanted to see them move, wanted their faces before him, wanted to feel their bodies against him.

Some would have called him crazy, but, in his deepest mind, he was still in the mindset of Sasori the child; he loved his parents. He wasn't ashamed to admit it. He had been nearly frantic when he found his house in ruins; he couldn't stand the idea of losing them again. For this reason, he felt they were the best examples to show Rin - to show her the care and attention.

This was a rare honor. He didn't normally like to show off his parents, and especially not to someone he hadn't even met face to face. But he sensed that he and Rin, despite obvious age differences, had several similarities. His conversations with her had confirmed it. He could trust her with his parents. Just like he could trust Misa when she helped him with their cleaning; Misa had made him speak, and Rin had been his equal in more than one discussion and topic. He could trust both of them. He trusted Suzaku, of course... both something in the innocence that the girls offered appealed to him. They needn't know he was a murderer, or a tool for such acts. It wasn't necessary, right?
