Summary: Light decided he'd meet Wice right away, so Misa brings Light to their house to meet him.

Misa's naive thoughts, however, were nothing like how it would have been for the boy with the poor posture. Wonderwice was strange, yes, and that was how he would always be. He wasn't fond of being touched quite a lot by anyone, and he didn't normally initiate physical contact. Humans least of all -- considering in his world humans couldn't see him unless they were special...or dead like he was. Holding Misa's hand when they first met was strange enough to him. The boy normally sat around quietly, watching everyone around him, mostly Tousen -- only speaking when spoken to or when he had a question, and then -- only doing things when someone seemed threatening and was approaching Tousen. That man was the closest thing Wonderwice could have had to a 'father'.

At Misa's house where he was, it wasn't that different. He was normally quiet, sometimes talking to her, but never saying much. He was examining something in one of the corners of the house, what it was, he didn't know, probably just some broken wood, testing it out with his fingers, feeling what it was like to touch things. It was sitting next to a small piece of glass, and he let his finger brush up against it curiously. Things he hadn't seen were there. Many things he hadn't seen, or if he had -- he didn't remember.

While he was probably considerably older than Misa, he was still childlike -- a "newborn" Arrancar. He moved his finger to his chest, his hand could fit right into that hole on his body, but he didn't do anything to it. He wondered about the purpose of that part of him, only briefly, though, before going back to the objects on the ground.

Misa didn't really know a lot about Wonderwice. She didn't further question the hole in his chest or the mask on his head. As strange as he was, Wice was Wice, and Misa had grown somewhat attached to him. She didn't even consider the fact that when Tousen showed up he would probably leave to spend all his time with him, or the fact that maybe Wice would be moved to the upper level someday. She was content with how things were-- but when Light showed up, that made everything perfect.

Misa burst through the creaky door, Light in tow. "Wiiiice?" she called out, glancing around the filthy room until she spotted him, crouched in a corner across the room, peering at her and Light.

A proud grin broke out on her face. She stepped aside to reveal her rather bored looking boyfriend, and cleared her throat to give an introduction to the confused looking boy across the room. "Wice, this is Misa's boyfriend she told you about... Light-kun!" She turned to study Light's face, awaiting the fatherly grin that would surely spread on his features.

Light was disappointed to see the state of her current adobe, but it appeared that one could not do much better until they reached this 'upper level' that he had read so much about. Still, it was a place out of the rain and had the potential of warmth, which was really all one could ask in this place. Light did make a mental note, however, to find a room of his own that did not have the same scent of mildew.

When Misa addressed the child in the corner, Light turned brown eyes to the boy in question. From what he could see, he was probably eleven or not much older, which a strange, almost bone-like structure on his head. Luckily, Light was in perfect control of his demeanor, and turned his blank expression into the kind smile in greeting as he was known for, though it didn't quite meet his eyes.

"Nice to meet you," was all he said, awaiting the boy's reaction. If his typing was any indication, there was something very strange about to come out of this kid's mouth. Or more likely, he was just young and did not know how to type.

Wonderwice looked at the guy by Misa's side -- 'Light' was the name Misa had used. He was sizing the male up with bright violet eyes that saw straight through people, or at least would give the impression that he knew more than they thought he did. And that, perhaps, was true.

He stood up, finally, the sitting position hid that gaping hole in his chest, but when he stood, it was visible. He approached Light slowly, a hunched over position was his posture. When he got in front of lightly, he seemed to glue himself there. "Nice meet....Light." Wondewice just stared athim a bit beyond that.

Misa hadn't noticed until just now, with Light standing next to her, that Wice's hunched over posture was almost exactly like Ryuuzaki's. She faintly wondered if Light would notice. Knowing him, he definitely would.

Sometimes, Misa missed Ryuuzaki. But if Light knew that... she knew he'd dump her on the spot. Besides, her Light-kun was much much more important than Ryuuzaki! Much more important than anyone, really. She just had to keep reminding herself that.

She also noticed that Wice wasn't as open to Light as he was to Misa. What happened to the big, happy family image that she had planned?! The girl sighed. Of course deep down, she knew things wouldn't end up that way. Wice was too shy, and Light was too... reserved, maybe? She glanced at Light's calm expression, his small smile and bored eyes that she failed to notice.

Light held his frown at the strange hole in the boy's chest, but did look genuinely surprised. After all, it would seem odd if he wasn't, a completely human and natural reaction to something so odd. But it should be impossible for a human to have such a perfect hole taken right out of them, were vital organs and a spine should be. Yet, despite his disturbingly L-like posture, he seemed okay.

It was possible that humans from other realities were not the same, but it was more likely that the boy wasn't human. With a clear view of the boy's head, the bone-like decoration looked more of an accessory. What a strange thing.

"Has Misa been taking good care of you?" Light asked, seemingly regaining his composure of his surprise at the boy's physical state, keeping the guise of the nice young man. He had a feeling 'Wice' would not speak very much. Light would most likely have better luck asking Misa about the boy without those big eyes staring at him.

Wonderwice straightened out his posture so he could stand straight and look up at Light. He could tell where the eyes of the taller man were. He could feel them on himself, almost. It was different from Tousen - very - who had vacant eyes and even though there was that, always seemed to stare right through you. Violet eyes didn't once leave Light, as though returning any look that he would have gotten. He was still not used to the fact that Humans were slightly curious of his physical state -- shinigami nor arrancar ever questioned it. They all knew it meant he was once a hollow.

He wondered for a moment if it was appropriate to ask if Light knew what Shinigami were like Misa did. But he held his tongue for the moment when Light asked him that question. He nodded a few times. "Misa, yeah," he answered. He looked the man up and down a few more times, still. He still wasn't used to the humans totally, and it made him come off as slightly unsure.

He looked at Misa, and it was then obvious that the boy didn't knw a lot about what it meant to keep a secret. "Light know Shinigami, too?" he asked, head tilted. If he knew SHinigami, there was no reason (to Wonderwice) that he should find him being an Arrancar all that weird.

Misa froze. She swore her heart stopped beating for an instant as all traces of a smile completely disappeared from her face.

She had forgotten she had told Wice about the Shinigami! What would Light think? Oh, Misa could already see his head turning towards her to give her a look out of the corner of her worried eyes.

Boyfriends forgave their girlfriends for mistakes, right? Something told Misa Light wouldn't forgive her so easily. An involuntary shudder went down her spine, as she chewed on her lips-- a bad habit she had developed since she was forced to stop wearing lipstick and all her other makeup.

Could she lie her way out of this? Could she play dumb? No, Light was too smart for that. The girl mentally berated herself-- how could she have told Wice? She had only told him because he knew Shinigami, too... she thought he might have had a Death Note as well! Would Light understand that? Misa felt a frantic, desperate need to explain this to him, but she didn't think that now was the time, not right in front of Wice.

Sighing heavily, she studied the filthy ground of the old shack, blonde locks that were beginning to lose their shine covering her fear-stricken face.

And then she looked up and saw innocent purple eyes giving her a confused look, and sighed once more.

"Yes, Wice," she began, her voice quiet and shaky, "Light knows Shinigami too."

Misa. Light sighed, hair slightly falling into his face as he watched her from the corner of his eye. In this strange world you never knew who you could trust, even less than people from theirs. He should have guessed Misa would not be so reliable, though Light had hoped the accidental slip to Matt and Mello was it.

It doesn't matter if he appears to be just a kid - you cannot trust so easily, Misa. Brown eyes brought themselves back to the arrancar child and softened, a half-smile finding its way on his lips.

"What did she tell you about 'Shinigami', Wice?"

"Misa tell me know Shinigami. Shinigami in Misa world not like in Wice world." He assured Light. He didn't want him mad at Misa for what he had said, and he sensed tension almost immediately. "Kinda scary in Misa world. Look human in Wice world." He mentioned. "Wice has some Shinigami power..." he said. "Was Hollow before got it. Called Arrancar now." He was trying to explain to Light in his best words to keep Misa from getting into trouble. He had to struggle over everything he said, there were stutters and pauses in what he said. He put his hand up to hide the hole in his chest, and he stared right at Light.

"Wice wanna know Shinigami like in Misa world. Wice teacher Shinigami. Gin-sama Shinigami. Aizen-sama Shinigami." He let himself shift a little awkwardly, bringing his thumb to his lips in thought. He chewed on it momentarily. Letting himself shift a little. "Shinigami human who die in Misa world?" he used Misa's name because he wasn't familiar with Light, of course.
