Who: Angeal, Gillian.
When: Shortly after Gillian's arrival.
Where: Clock tower.
Rating: PG?
Warnings: MOTHER. Angst, I suppose.
Summary: So, Angeal's mom has shown up in Purgatorium. Angeal goes to get her.
Angeal had, truthfully, thought about the possibility before. With the fact that anyone could show up at any point and for any reason, how could he not have? The fact remained that anyone he knew from his life on Gaia could show up in the city; his mother was no exception to that.
... still, he had hoped it wouldn't be so. Not that Purgatorium was a bad place overall, but Angeal was a SOLDIER and he was used to things of a harsh nature. His mother, however...
He wouldn't have wished this on his mother. She'd been through enough already, hadn't she? And she'd been so wearied and depressed the last time he had seen her. Didn't she deserve some rest? Some peace and quiet? Gaia had turned out to be a trial enough and all Angeal could think was that... this was rather unfair. For whatever she'd done in her life, for whatever the Gods might have pinned her with to grant her entrance to the city of redemption-no; she still shouldn't have been there.
(There were other people that Angeal thought belonged there, instead. A certain scientist, for example. Yes, Angeal would have suffered him this place long, long before his mother. He had far more reasons to be here; it would have been more right for him to come instead.)
... nonetheless, though, his mother was now in Purgatorium and Angeal was aware there was very little he could do about it. (Beyond complaining to the Gods, perhaps...) He knew well enough that there was no exit to this city other than the Gods' kindness, and so if his mother was here and she was stuck here, then he'd-well, he'd just have to go and get her, wouldn't he? Of course Angeal would; of course he'd do everything in his power to keep her safe and keep her well. (And he had a few questions for her, just perhaps...)
So, after Angeal got over the initial shock of seeing his mother posting upon the system, he didn't hesitate to find out her location and inform her that he was meeting her there. He didn't even bother to pause to find Genesis before he left, instead opting to simply write out a note saying that he had gone (Genesis would know why) and that he would be back.
And then Angeal was on his way to the clock tower, moving as quickly as he could. He'd trust his mother to reach that location safely, but still he wanted to-it was just better to be safe, rather than sorry, right?
When he arrived, it seemed, he had gotten there quicker than his mother had. Worrying, but only slight. Angeal merely stopped short of the massive structure, looked around for a few moments and then turned his gaze out to the horizon. Arms folded, gaze searching; waiting.
She'd be there soon, he knew.
