Soma wondered along towards the church cheerfully carrying Claimh naked in hand. The sword don't get any ideas girls... Since he never had bothered with a sheath before, but he supposed when it got it's powers back he would be able to summon properly. But he was sparring so he didn't opt to bring his white coat with him, much the same way he didn't bring his coat to the bakery. It was already white enough did it 'need' powder sugar? So he sat on the steps before the church, placing the sword over his lap, and a small box of muffins he had brought as well. When a thought occurred... What did this guy even look like to begin with?

Kadaj, honestly, wasn't even concerned with knowing who he was going up against, least of all appearance-wise. As someone who tended to haunt the church regularly, he knew that people who went there.. well, it was seldom and otherwise rare. In fact, in all the times he had been there, he had never run into anyone unexpectedly, had he? Well, not if they hadn't been looking expressly for him.

And, true to form, when Kadaj arrived at the church, there was only one other person in sight. And that, he thought, was the person he was currently looking for, so Kadaj didn't hesitate to make his way over. "You're here to spar, right?"

He nodded as he stood up thoughtfully looking over at the stranger who spoke to him. "That's right." he replied as he dusted off his pants and hefted up the two handed sword. His mind already whispering that this person looked suited to fast styles of fighting. "Do we wait for others or do you just want to get started now?" he asked as he stood his weight on one leg as he looked about the area curious to know if anyone else was coming.

Kadaj shook his head at the question. The others weren't meant to be along until later, and some in places other than this. If they showed up whilst they were fighting, then--they could watch or they could join in. It didn't really matter to Kadaj either way.

"We can get started," he replied smoothly. His hand crept behind his back, withdrawing the double-bladed sword that was his constant companion and bringing it around to the front of him.

Shishi needed to get some tension out-especially after Ani Toguro showed up. That twisted...thing, spilling his secret like that...the tengu took a deep breath to calm himself as he approached with silent footsteps, sharp violet eyes glancing around.

He had seen Kadaj a few times around ShinRa but had never seen the other in a fight so he was interested to see how this would turn out. It was rare he got to train with someone serious so he was looking forward to this. He glanced around for Kadaj, one hand resting on the hilt of his katana that hung by his side.

Kadaj, likewise, was interested in seeing Shishi fight. He'd not only seen the other around ShinRa, knew that he was a SOLDIER as well, but he had also heard nii-san speak about him a few times. Zack seemed to think highly of Shishi and generally Zack's praise was well-founded, so Kadaj had a feeling that he would not be disappointed with this.

So, when Shishi showed up at the church, Kadaj was already there and waiting. He saw the other when he approached, and at once was standing to rise from the steps from where he had been sitting, waiting. "You are Shishiwakamaru?" he asked.

"Yes, I am. You must be Kadaj," the samurai nodded at the other's words, flicking a few strands of blue hair out of his face.

"Shall we get started then?" he asked with a slight smirk, never one to waste time with idle talk and such. The katana was drawn, the blade gleaming slightly even in the dull light.

Kadaj nodded slightly, asserting that he was indeed Kadaj. Shishi's question had the silver-haired man reaching for his doubled-bladed sword, withdrawing it easily from where it rested against the small of his back. It was brought around to the front, his grip upon the handle tight and the blades themselves angled a little. "Let's begin."

Kadaj had been right all along. The forest had a serenity about it that the city lacked; he'd gotten so used already to being surrounded on all sides by dilapidated gray. The city was ancient, tomblike ( ... )

Kadaj, honestly, hadn't been the least bit disturbed by the strange noise from Purgatorium, and he failed to see why everyone else had reacted so strongly. Of course, Kadaj came into existence bearing the vague recollections of the Weapons of Gaia, and he had seen himself the pain and burden a planet could bear. It was nothing to him, meant nothing to him, then or now ( ... )

In the beginning, chaos sensed rather than heard or saw Kadaj approach, and immediately stood, replaced his glove, and waved brightly to his friend's monochrome silhouette as it drew closer.

"It's a good day for this," he said at last, once he stood before him. His expression was mild and cheerful as he regarded Kadaj, betraying nothing of the unrest that he'd felt so recently.

chaos scooped up a sticky handful of snow and rolled it into a ball, feeling its weight in his palm as he withdrew to the other end of the clearing. "It looks like it's getting warmer all the time."

He gave the snowball a light, high underhand toss to Kadaj; it arced through the air and descended slowly towards him.
