Perhaps her statement came a little too early. Patience was never one of her strong points, but she wasn’t sure how long she could go on without saying something. His scowl was intimidating, if only slightly. It wasn’t enough to stop her from her intent to talk, and so far it proved to be a success. He was talking, that was enough for her, even if he didn’t seem at all interested on the topic.

This was harder than she thought. Her smile began to fade to a concerned frown, realizing the sensitivity of the subject just from the bitterness in his voice. What did she know about family affairs? Her own solution was hiding away from the problems instead of confronting them, abandoning any ties with the only living relative she had by taking on her mother's maiden name. Thus this entire conversation just made her out to be a hypocrite, but that wasn't anything he knew. No, nobody knew about that.

"But...he's your brother," She replied, eyes following as she turned to watch him walk ahead of her, giving herself a moment to reflect her words carefully before jogging a little to catch up. "Isn't that enough of a reason to want to stay up there?" Rinoa turned to observe a few of the passing buildings just to stay focused on their purpose, there was always the chance he could be around.

"He is, yes. And when I feel that I know what to say to him, then I shall." He didn't turn around, didn't focus his attention on her anymore than necessary. One hand went to his hip, brushing over the gun that rested there; always a comfort, no matter the situation. "But brother or no, I do not stay where I'm not wanted. It's as simple as that."

And... well, he didn't know what Kadaj wanted yet. It seemed like he'd made his decision, and who was Yazoo to step in and complain? It didn't irritate him any less, though, and maybe, maybe he regretted having lost his temper the way he had. Had he at least kept the conversation private, it would have made everything much better.

But, oh, he'd been so angry and lashing out was the best way he knew how to react. Kadaj and Loz were the same way, weren't they? Kadaj moreso than himself, even.
