Her first reaction was along the lines of 'Fryd dra vilg?!', which was, to be honest, the sanatised version of what she really said. Her peons rubbed off on her more than she'd ever readily realise.

She never thought she'd she see that again. It was unmistakable - the decal-tattoos, the garish paint. The complete lack of Al Bhed aesthetic, or, really, any aesthetic at all. It was a giant, horrible sky-hover.

... she still wanted to ride it. Just to see if Cid and company could pull off a transportational vehicle better than she, Gippal, and the desert peons could. (Hnf. She doubted it.) It would be worth putting up with Brother just to see.

She did bring the booze, though - a small jug of what smelled and tasted an awful lot like hover fuel and was probably chemically similiar.

"Brother..." ... Cid had clearly been having a slow day when he named his firstborn. It never failed to make her roll her eyes under the goggles in a very Nhadala-like way. "Pnuikrd ouin nudkid."

Yfacusa was the first one to go investigate the newcomer. The small gray vaguely-humanoid thing peered up at the woman, before flexing her muscles with a triumphant 'Chop!'. Meanwhile, Brother had been reminded of the concept of gravity; having tilted back too far on the platform's railing, he was now upside down and whining a bit. While he did have decent arm strength (the stuff the girls' brought back was often heavy and often Buddy had something constructive he could deflect Brother's attempts to get him to lift it with), but the ability to coordinate and heft his own body escaped him ( ... )

I typed most of this without the translator... I feel worried. ihatesandstorms January 25 2008, 05:53:02 UTC
And while she owned a similiarly bizarre and as of yet unamed beast - which was 'floon'-ing alone behind her at this very moment, being enamoured of the blonde - Yfacusa was just too weird. She poked it a little before deciding it wouldn't eat her or the purple balloon. Sighing loudly, she just shook her head at the travelling circus that was Brother. Had he gotten more tattoos, or what she imagining things? He really did look more like his sperm donor than she expected. From what she remembered of Cid, anyhow.

"Lymm sa dryd ykyeh yht E'mm neb ouin ryen uid," she chirped. Or, in Nhadalian: Hi, how are you? She absolutely hated cutesy deviations on her name. Only Gippal was allowed to get away with it, and only because you couldn't tell the hard-headed xiycemaytan anything.

"Oui cdemm fyga ib lnoehk?" Nhadala rubbed at her forehead with her wrist, somewhat amused. "Ysydain." She glanced around. It was less chaotic than she expected, and also made her miss her hover.

"... Cu cruf sa ynuiht."

And if Nhadala had mentioned that little factoid, Brother probably would have burst out in a mixture of rage and hysterics. He was not his sire in the slightest way, damn it. He has hair, no matter how little there was; it was present in a little cropping. Therefore, he and his father were visibly dissimilar enough. Also, the tattoos helped.

Brother would probably genuinely cry if he went bald. "Yf, cyhtdnyb, tuh'd pa cu lniam du dra veyhlaa dryd oui knuiht ihtan ouin puud mega cu syho lnuheac." Yfacusa studied the pokemon floating behind Nhadala, but was distracted by Brother calling her name as he sort of lunged like he was going to hug Nhadala, or at least the hand with the booze in it.

"Cusadesac. Pid drah E ghuf frydajan rybbahat dra tyo pavuna ryt du pa lusbmadamo yfacusa- hu hu, Yfacusa, hud oui." He patted his pet on the frills, going back to the platform and gesturing for Nhadala to follow. "Frana du vencd, kukkma myto?"

Maybe she was just biased as far as Brother went, having grown up in Bikanel and remembering (very vaguely - she wasn't that old) when he was just a newborn. He'd been ikmo. Wrinkly and red. Seeing someone as a baby really took the shimmer off. Assuming they had any to begin with - in this case, it didn't seem likely.

And bald he would soon be if he didn't stop it with the squishy soubriquets. She gave her shoulders an irritable little shrug, laughing mirthless. "Nhadala. Hud cyhtdnyb. Yht oui pnuikrd ed uh ouincamv!" She considered not giving it to him, but decided not to risk one of his unspiraly wails. They might shatter the bottle, and she sure as shoopuf did not want that stuff all over her new coat.

"... Oui hysat ed yfacusa?" Without waiting for an answer, she grinned, wiping her goggles on her duster as was her habit. "Dra bemud'c cdydeuh. Ed'c dra sucd esbundyhd bynd. E fyhd du caa ed."
