And... ah, to get Kazuki, as well, who insisted he was waiting for Vincent. The blonde had only given him a Look, and it spoke volumes if what he was thinking. Kazuki smiled, though the gesture was thin, and simply told him, 'Go.'
So Toshiki had gone and decided not to worry over the thread-user, if he could help it. For no other reason than... he was supposed to be at this little gathering with someone, right? (That thought still sat awkwardly with him. Not because he minded - not in the least - it was just... out of the norm.)
And thus, to the campsite he went, shuffling his way into view and squinting a bit. Familiar faces around a roaring fire, and it made him smile a little, just a little, as he stepped further out into view, silently wandering up alongside Makubex and plunking a heavy hand down upon the boy's head, ruffling his hair absently.

"So, where's the rest of our motley crew?"

"I think Kazuki wanted to be left alone for while. Maybe he'll stop by later." It was always hard to tell with him; he always had his own agenda, after all. "And I do hope you weren't expecting me to bring Kagami."
Bright eyes flicked back to Makubex briefly, though it wasn't long before the blond was looking to Euphemia instead.

She should really say something, she thought. The idea was reinforced when MakubeX walked off, and suddenly it was just her and Toshiki.
She cleared her throat.
"Um," she said quite eloquently. "It's cold, isn't it?"

It was different with Euphemia (ah- wait, Euphie, he was supposed to call her, right?). She generally asked him questions that warranted some sort of response, and for a moment, Toshiki could only study her while searching for... some semblance of an appropriate answer.
"It is," he offered, shoving his hands into the pocket of his coat and glancing down. Ah, the ground sure was interesting, wasn't it? "...You look nice." Interesting. Definitely interesting, yepp.

But she wanted to figure him out, very much so. She wanted to know everything (and she still didn't know why).
She found his gaze a bit unnerving, and swallowed before he spoke again. She had the grace to blush. "Thank you," she said sincerely. "I took some time to look nice for you. I didn't want to be... a disappointment." She laughed a bit uneasily, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye. "You always look handsome."

The blonde shuffled his boots against the dirt underfoot, anxious and ever so restless. "You did a nice job getting all this set up." And as more people were arriving, it seemed from their reactions that they, too, were enjoying themselves. It'd been the whole point of the get-together, right? For everyone to have fun and lift a few spirits. ...Even if it was likely to start feeling too crowded for his liking soon, he'd tough it out for as long as he could, for her sake.

Euphemia smiled really slowly; inside, she felt like fireworks of happiness, or something equally cliched but just as effective, were bursting inside of her. At least, there was a tug at something within her, but she wasn't quite sure what. Almost like a butterfly's flutter, she thought mildly.
"Do you really think so?" she asked shyly, obviously pleased. "That's the first time anyone's ever said something like that to me."
Euphemia was glad that though the gathering was small, she could consider it a success. People did seem to be enjoying themselves, and that had been her goal, after all--nothing more, nothing less. Having Toshiki here was a pleasant plus; she had been a bit nervous he wouldn't show up, suddenly suffering from a fit of recluse syndrome, but he'd turned up after all (part of her hoped he'd come for her, but the other half hoped he would have come regardless).
"You think?" she asked, looking out a bit. "I didn't really know where to start. I couldn't have done it without you and MakubeX helping, though, without a doubt."

The blonde stepped forward, turning a bit so that he was standing alongside her and facing the fire, one shoulder brushing absently against hers given their closer proximity. "...I didn't mind. Gave me something to do, at least. This place isn't exactly bursting with exciting activities." True enough; and Toshiki didn't like being idle. Even physical labor - digging firepits and hauling firewood, were far preferable to sitting at home and doing nothing.
He shifted slightly, cleared his throat and added, "My offer still stands to help you around the shop, if you need it."

"Oh, but," Euphie stole a glance at him, biting her lower lip. "It's my job, you know? Um, I wouldn't feel right getting your help without you getting paid or something... MakubeX works there too."
She paused, and then continued, "Maybe you should ask Alice for a job. Then we can all work together. You wouldn't be without something to do, and then..." she trailed off. Well, I could see you more often.

...Then there was Lucifer, and Toshiki... would rather not reflect on that. Talk about high-risk jobs; how many people actually got themselves killed "working" and lived to tell about it?
And then... working for Makubex under the flag of the Volts. Again, not something that paid, exactly. Toshiki tended to just... find other satisfaction in working than monetary gain. Spending time with Euphemia was his motivation for wanting to help in the store. But, Kazuki had said something about the upper level and needing money to live up there and... he did need money for food, so...
"...We'll see," he murmured, lashes half-lowering over bright eyes. "I do need to find some sort of work, I guess, if I want to keep myself alive and not dying of boredom."

If only she had done more before she died. She'd always regret that.
"I've never been paid before, either," Euphemia said frankly. "But it'd be nice to work together, don't you think? We can walk home together too."
That'd be nice too, walking home with Toshiki. She wouldn't mind the company on the trek home. Sure, she might've had company once there, but even if Sephiroth was looking to store his items in Euphemia's little rented house, he probably wouldn't be around. She wasn't even thinking of living in the upper level yet; it just seemed so lonely, to leave her friends behind...

A brief glance around had the blonde catching sight of Kagami, and his eyes darkened significantly. That man had been paying just a little too much attention to Euphie, and he didn't like it. (One could blame Makubex for pointing it out and causing his paranoia to flare up.)
"...I'll ask her," he said, then, eyes returning to his companion's face. "I'll see if she has any openings available. If not... I'll still come and walk you home." The idea of her traipsing around in this city bothered him anyway.

It was just a question of how.
But, for some odd, odd reason, she didn't want to protest and tell Toshiki not to come out of his way. She felt an odd surge of happiness when he said that, like she wanted him to waste his time to come and walk her anyway. It was odd; she pushed the feeling (and the idea accompanying it) to the side.
"If you don't want to work with Alice, you can always work at Shinra, maybe," Euphie suggested a tad shyly, an obvious blush stealing across her cheeks. "And... I'd like you to walk me home, all the same. I'd rather it be you than anyone else."

And the noise... it really was starting to get to him. But, ah, he was in no hurry to leave. Or rather, no hurry to leave her. He straightened a little, head tilting to regard her quietly, thoughtfully, for a long moment.
"...Do you want to go for a walk?" Not far, but... a little ways from the crowd would suit him just fine.
