Makubex arrived early, carrying a couple bags. He'd been terribly poor at saving money lately... Well, no matter, it was for a good cause.

"Ah, first one here?"

Euphemia gave a little start, not having expected the voice. She had never been too good around the dark; it was a girlish fear she'd never grown out of, and the light thrown off the fire served to make the darkness surrounding her much more frightening and foreign. She turned to MakubeX almost violently, hair whipping around her shoulders, and then she breathed a little sigh of relief when she was who it was. Her heart hammered in her chest, and she tried to even her breathing as she smiled, shakily.

"It looks like," she said, after an odd moment, "Did you... Do you need help with that?"

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you." He glanced about, surveying the area. An excellent location. "I've got it, but if you could direct me where you want it all...?"

Euphemia pointed to the table and laughed a bit nervously. It was only MakubeX, it was only MakubeX, it had not been some sort of wild beast or stampeding Godzilla or anything silly like that. She had no reason to be afraid (even though the dark was scary and she couldn't help that tug of fear at her conscience everytime she realized she couldn't see through it).

"I'm okay, really," Euphemia said, more of an effort to convince herself than MakubeX. "It's just. You surprised me, really."

Makubex set the bags down and began removing various snacks. With, of course, the necessary ingredients for s'mores.

"I'll be more careful next time."

Euphemia had never really made a s'more herself, so that's why she went over to where MakubeX was. Really, that's what she told herself.

In actuality, she didn't want to be standing all by herself.

"Careful of what? You didn't scare me."

"Ah, well, my apologies, then." Makubex grinned, offering her a marshmallow. "Shall we start, or shall we wait for more visitors?"

"I don't know, really..." Euphemia took the marshmallow thoughtfully, staring at it before taking a gentle bite out of the corner. Oo, sticky. "Maybe we should wait a little, until more people come. I don't want to be rude. But I don't want you to wait too much either."

When she was little, Euphemia had always been the type to sneak bites before she was supposed to, but she supposed she was grown out of that now. Somewhat, at the very least.
