Great. He didn't want to just sit around and do nothing, but he wasn't quite sure of what to do otherwise. He felt like he came so close when he'd confronted Rikku on Jenova's journal, and then she'd shot him down. That alien being was more important. For now.
She said that she'd come back, and he trusted her that much. It would have been better if she didn't have to leave in the first place, but she also said that it was something that she'd have to take care of for now, something that she had to do alone. What was he missing? He felt like there was some kind of keyword, some kind of hint that he wasn't quite getting at.
It was snowing again, but that wasn't particularly unusual. Kakashi felt good to be out and about, even if he wasn't really doing anything in particular anymore. He needed some time to think, time to be away from the things that he was thinking about. Maybe he could visit Marina and get some turnips... or maybe he'd just run into someone else who'd force-feed him something he'd never tried in his entire life. Having avoided Rikku time and time again, he was starting to feel kind of lonely, but he figured that he should deal. Rikku wasn't herself, and he wanted to prove that for once he wouldn't need to resort to anyone else. Besides, that probably had hurt Rikku, the fact that he wasn't particularly discreet about it. Or, he thought that it'd hurt the Rikku that he knew as opposed to the one who was hiding things from him now.
Either way, he'd challenged her. If only he could just reach Jenova first, he might be able to turn the tide. Of course, that would also be putting his mind at risk, but he wasn't feeling the way he had been back then. He was better rested and more decided in his actions; he just wanted to ask Jenova why. In a scary way, he was actually looking forward to running into her again...
Enough. He needed to get these thoughts out of his head... so off he went hoping for something interesting to happen.
