Sephiroth didn't really know why he liked staying away from the city; perhaps it was because he could not shake from his mind the events that had taken place before his most recent defeat. Why were his friends all siding with ShinCo? Why was he fighting them? Why did he kill the guide girl? He cursed himself for that blind wrath before reminding himself once more that it was all ShinRa's fault. It was ShinRa's fault for making SOLDIER into monsters, for experimenting on the remaining survivors of races on the brink of extinction, and many more things. He was used by ShinRa and felt much hurt for the betrayal ( ... )

Al looked in the direction of the footsteps seeing a tall man with long silver hair approaching. He had raised his hand in greeting at him, the young alchemist couldn't help but feel a little nervous by the man. He'd gotten himself into trouble thanks to trusting that man before, however he raised his hand into a shy wave too.

When the man spoke he looked out across the city again spotting the dragons flying in the sky, possibly the same ones that had burnt his brothers sleeves. The teen automatically felt guilty for going out on his own without a mention to Ed.

"They'd probably be happier in the air, I don't think they'd be happy if I caught one of them" Al responded

"Perhaps so." Rather than passing the boy, he stood a slight distance from him and turned to look at the dragons. There they flew, freely; it brought some kind of peace to Sephiroth in a strange way.

"Would it be a bother if I asked you to tell me about this place?" He asked. "It's just come to my attention recently that I don't know much about this place--what is it, what are we doing here,... and so on."

Granted, people had tried to tell him before, he was sure of it. But for some reason, he couldn't think of those answers now... Perhaps they were evading him, or maybe something greater was blocking them, something that wouldn't quite come to mind.

In his mind, there was a faint and faraway voice, but he chose to ignore it since he was unsure of what it was.

Al looked from the dragons up to the man. The alchemist himself didn't really know to much about this place, still he wouldn't disagree with sharing what he knew about this place, maybe this man was new here too?

"Well, from what I know from what I've been told, this is a place called Purgatorium, we're here because we have sinned in the past and we're here to repent those sins" Al replied, calmly.

"The Gods or people who run it do tell you where we are if we ask, I asked and they told me why I was here..." he stopped momentarily.

He was here because of performing forbidden alchemy with his brother, he was paying the consequences for that now, from what he'd heard about his past, he suffered for it then too.

"...Are you alone here?" he asked, wondering whether he would be lonely here. Maybe he had no right to ask something like that.
