Oh dear~ hopefully Jade wasn’t going to exposed to one of Dist’s rambling monologues… while it hardly shocked the elder man that his hunched former companion spoke to himself out loud, that hardly meant he wanted to be privy to an endless rant about the unfairness of the universe and Dist’s ‘elegantly exhausted feet’.

Speaking of which, it was hardly any less disturbing than usual that Dist had been scouring over Purgatorium, bursting in doors uninvited in the search for him~ Dementedly obsessive as usual. Either Dist had become more boldly attached since his unfortunate confession, or he was having grad delusions about taking his only opportunity at lording over Jade in a weakened state. My… who knew Dist could be so morbidly curious~?

Based on the creaking of the floorboards and the sound of his breathing, Dist had huddled himself rather close to the couch. Undoubtedly, Jade was being observed with a disturbing mixture of fretting and amusement. Really now… what a fool this little man was.

Now, the question was… to point out how obnoxious the proximity between he and Dist was out loud? Or to simply play at this game of sleep a bit longer, perhaps toy with the idea of ‘speaking in one’s sleep~’

Ah, options.

If Dist planned to stick about like an unwanted gnat, Jade should at least amuse himself with the man before Luke returned, and Dist was sent on his way.

Dist opted to rest and save his breath rather than go on a tangent. With his arms crossed over his knees, he rested his head sideways against his arms, closing his eyes as a feather light sigh slipped through his lips. Having obsessively gone through half of Purgatorium to find Jade had exhausted Dist, and for the time, felt quite content with Jade's indifferent company (less indifferent than he thought, since Jade was actually awake). The close proximity was somewhat unconscious, but it was likely a side affect of Dist's needy nature. And if Jade was asleep, who cared?

In fact, after a couple of minutes of resting his head and eyes, Dist straightened somewhat, eyeing Jade curiously. Yes, that's right. Jade was asleep. Probably much to Jade's unease, Dist shifted by rolling onto his knees, the distance between them lessening a little further. Dist tilted his head and narrowed his eyes, expression taking a rather curious take. Not only was Jade vulnerable (well, more so than usual) with his injuries, he was --allegedly, as Dist thought, asleep! Even in faking it, Jade had a rather peaceful expression whilst sleeping that Dist had to admire. No sarcastic, biting, obnoxious humor, nor a furious, frightening gaze - a blank, calm canvas.

Apprehensively, a hand rose, shaking in a slight tremor as it paused in mid air. Dist swallowed, blinking. He wasn't sure how, but he felt he should take advantage of the situation. Hell, if he wanted to, he could probably add to the severity of Jade's injuries.. but there were other sort of (mostly) benign urges that actually took priority over bitter sadism. Dist's fingers clenched and unclenched uneasily, debating...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, 'KOTOFACE =DDDD <333 impaling_heaven November 6 2007, 23:16:50 UTC
The sallow creaks in the floorboards, the resounding sound of breathing closing in about his ears, and of course, the soft shuffling of cloth as Dist made a fist and retracted it told Jade everything he needed to know. Really, he found it pitiful how poorly attuned the senses of some individuals were; humans were supposedly a superior breed of animal. They, therefore, should use their instinct and intellect both in tandem, at an advanced level.

And in this case, Jade’s intellect agreed with his instinct. Of course Dist would clamber foreword, slightly drunk on giddiness at the thought that, with his ‘rival’ very much asleep, he had the upper hand, and could dole out further pains or mercies as he saw fit. Jade was entirely comfortable with allowing him that delusion; after all, it was merely that. A delusion. He would have to be a great deal more undone than this to be at Dist’s trifling mercies~

Now, then. Really, it was a game of comfort. Jade was not at ease with having his personal space defined like this, but then, neither was Dist entirely comfortable in doing it, he assumed. The only way to come out of this even mildly amused was to hold his ground; what Dist did would determine what he’d say when he broke the news to him that he was indeed awake-who could sleep through so grating a voice?-and that he found Dist’s tendencies towards criminal activity (breaking an entering) and stalking were perhaps even less charming then his taste in wardrobe~

Of course, the thoughts of taking advantage of Jade's supposed vulnerability to throw him into a world of unreasonable pain was hard to shake, but, it was shaken regardless. Dist hesitantly brought that idle hand forward, and rather than strangling Jade or somesuch an aggressively angry motion such as, scooping his palm along the subtle swell of Jade's forehead, Dist's thumb brushing Jade's bangs out of his face. His heart immediately leapt into his throat and forgot to beat for a moment's time, his breath feeling dry and tight as he swallowed nervously.

Dist seemed to lean back, somewhat, the rest of his hand aiding this action in moving Jade's dirtied hair from his face. Dist eased out a sigh, seeming to relax, the tension of his anger having died down from seeing Jade so at peace. Ironically. Hesitantly, quaintly, Dist smiled.

Perhaps Jade might have thought to be slightly less cruel with his wording, had he seen the genuine smile that accompanied the gesture-- which was given rather than any dealing of pain, which Jade was admittedly thankful for. Physical anguish he could of course deal with; but considering how 'helpful' Luke had been thus far, the dull throb of pain in his body was becoming something he grew less and less pleased with as time passed.

Still, that was a big 'perhaps'.

"Dist..." The slow reel of that name from his lips was teasing in itself. Still feigning sleep, the light, easy tone of the wording followed by so subtle a sigh could be taken in a complementary fashion. That, subconsciously, the gentle and soothing touch brought Jade's mind to only one conclusion, and that conclusion was the skinny man seated on his heels beside him.

Jade gave him only enough time to get comfortable with it, for him to settle down and pride himself on the fact that it truly was the affectionate babble of a man dreaming before springing into action~

Almost at once when the bangs were swept fully to the side and rendered unmeddlsome, the hand with no injury snapped upwards, snaking around Dist's wrist in a painful grip, halting motion. An eye opened slowly thereafter, though otherwise, the lines of Jade's face stayed very much the same.

"Dist..." He began again, this time firmly. "Do you often invite yourself into homes unwanted, and the accost the sleeping residents, Dist~? How..." What was that word Luke used for him? Ah, yes. "-'sketchy'. Though, how you imagined I should be asleep after your loud and clumsy entrance is nearly astonishing in itself."

[[ooc: sorry for like the triple post @_@]]

Eletric shock jolted Dist's body, eyes widening in both the surprise in pain. "Gaah!!" Dist's first reflex was to instantly jerk his arm away, but it only amplified the pain as he didn't tug loose, which caused Dist to crumple forward partway and take a staggered gasp. In turn, Dist's other hand came up over Jade's wrist as he held Dist's with a loud slap, eyes slipping tightly shut. "Agh, let go! Let go! How should I have known you were awake!? With your injuries, I wouldn't put you past sleeping for days!!" Dist screeched.
