Now, there were certainly things Jade would prefer to be doing more then sitting on Luke’s tattered skeleton of a couch in the ruined living room his rotted home. Hastening to check on the medical supplies and experimental substances he’d been hording was certainly priority at the very top of his list; going to Mathiu empty-handed would not be unreasonable, but certainly a great deal more unhelpful than he intended to be.

Irony had a funny way of having the last laugh though, now didn’t it~

Rather than working with Mathiu at the clinic, he was currently in very great need of it. Nearly half a week since Luke had pulled the rubble from on top of him (a wholly embarrassing affair that Jade did not wish to repeat; vulnerability rubbed his pride in prickly ways, but better Luke to find him and haul him to someplace decidedly more ‘safe’ than any stranger)… and still, no medic had been found that could heal him.

Quite the nuisance.

And speaking of, Luke’s presence had become overbearing quite recently. With the disappearance of Gailardia, Luke seemed to have shuffled himself alarmingly into the role of playing ‘nurse’ full force. Jade, obliged to give the boy something to take his mind of the loss of his best friend, and keep him out of the house simultaneously, gave him little errands to run. As it were, Luke was off to fetch him materials to make a splint of currently…

If no healer was to be found, Jade still didn’t intend to wait around endlessly for his bones to mend themselves. A toll of the damages seemed to find a leg, perhaps a rib or two, and by the mighty discolouration alone, his wrist, quite broken.

Leaning back against the arm of the couch, Jade shut his eyes against the dusty darkness, only to have them snap back open, slightly narrowed.

”Jade?”

….The obstinacy of a pig, that man had.

Without answer, he closed his eyes one more, feigning sleep.
