Sakura had managed to slip out while Naruto had been occupied. She'd put on her clothing plus an additional sweater she had gotten since arriving here, and had made sure that she'd had all her weapons. What the pink haired kunoichi really needed was time to clear her head, and time to cry her heart out ( ... )

Although he was his usual calm self on the outside, he was completely at a loss on the inside. He honestly felt bad--this wasn't a game to them. Sakura and Naruto had accepted his challenge, and to him it was just a little game since he didn't remember a darn thing.

But that was just the problem, wasn't it? He didn't remember a darn thing, and now she was crying. He felt guilty that he'd thought of the whole thing as a game; he felt guilty that he'd seen their passionate feelings about their past as Team 7 and Team Kakashi and taken them lightly. Because seeing her now in that broken down state, it wasn't just a game. It wasn't something to take lightly--not all giggles and smiles and 'Yeah, we kicked your butt, sensei!!!'

It was also about their lives and feelings, wasn't it?

He approached her slowly, still feeling the guilt stabbing him on the inside.

"What's wrong?" He tried, cautiously.

Sakura knew she should have been stronger, but it had been building up over the last while. The incident with Sasuke had just been the straw that broke the camel's back. She had never intended for him to find out about her deal with Sasori, though it seemed that he had. Really, Sakura could have guessed his reaction, but she had honestly just been trying to put things back to how they had been before that love event ( ... )

Oh boy. What in the world made him think that he'd get a simple answer? Something simple and direct and solvable in a single sentence? He was shocked by the depth of her pain and sorrow--a lump of nervousness formed in his throat as he listened to her, and he had to fight just to swallow it. Other than that, he remained as calm, cool, and seemingly untouched as ever.

Sasuke? He remembered that she always had feelings for that boy, and then slowly she began to grow up somehow. Did he play any role in it? Was there anything he could say that would make her feel better?

She couldn't say his name, for some reason, and then she changed the problem to everything. While Kakashi couldn't really connect to Sasuke being the problem, maybe it was easier to deal with everything as a problem. It was more general, more vague, and it might give Kakashi a chance to actually 'try' and start over, maybe become their teacher all over again and make up somehow for the things he couldn't remember ( ... )
