I hate the fact that in the music industry in today's economy has resorted to no-talent hacks that are mass-produced in some corporate cloning tank somewhere in New York City or Los Angeles or any other major city that is run by any Superconglomerate that has only mass-consumption in their best interest. When friends of mine like Rob Martinelli, for example, who can play as well as say Joe Satriani or Jimi Hendrix, get over-looked yet anyone that can barely play a chord progression of A, Eminor, D, C can get a record deal without a second thought. If we all wanted to flood the music industry, we should at least flood it with talented musicians... Or at least well produced and executed music. When I think of music, I think of people like Randy Rhoads (Ozzy's first solo guitarist)or Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Probot) or even Tony Iommy (Black Sabbath). If there were as many talented musicians as not, then the music industry would possibly be a little better. "Emo" and "Pop Punk" are destroying the image of what Rock is all about. "Hip-hop" has turned sour as well, the only thing that those songs revolve around sex, drugs, or money. These things are not what the world is centered around (maybe money, but...), yet these "artists" feel the need to "borrow" other musician's track to make a "popular" song of their own. If music is to get any better, we need to introduce talent into the industry again. Bands like Lynard Skynnard (Free Bird) and Led Zeppelin (Stairway to Heaven), or even Nick Drake (Suicide is Painless) don't seem to have much influence on how music is played anymore in this day and age. I implore you to return the music industry to the real musicians, the ones with the talent and heart to continuously innovate and change the world of music. Where do the Superconglomerate Corporations get off with trying to subdue the mass public into a mindless consumption frenzy that only a herd of lemmings would flood toward? Answer me that! When will musicians regain talent and heart? An example of my point is that one "Trick Daddy" song, the beat is taken from the song "Crazy Train" written by Randy Rhoads. That is one example out of thousands. Listen to what you may, but think to yourself, "Where'd the talent go?", the next time you hear anything new on the radio. Anyway, I must bring this rant to a close, but think about what I said.
