(no subject)
my bunny kiwi is sick :(
a couple days ago kiwi started acting wierd, hiding and being totally antisocial. he was eating and drinking and pooping and would come if I rattled his treat box, but I was still pretty worried and wanted to take him to the vet. then on the second day he started acting more like himself. still, something was just off. I just knew that he wasent himself even though I couldnt describe WHY I felt this, and everything I know about bunnies told me that they hide their pain and if something seems wrong, it probably is. so I was cautious and took kiwi to the vet today, and it turns out I am actually a very good bunny parent.
He has a fever, and they gave me some antibiotics to give him twice a day. since I erred on the side of caution instead of waiting till he was obviously ill, we probably caught it in time and he should be fine.
he was not too thrilled about the trip though. but, I mean, I would be pretty upset if someone put me in a sack and stuck a thermometer in my ass too. he kept trying to get away by crawling up my chest and hiding in my sweatshirt. When the doctor was taking his temp he kept making these terrible groaing/moaning noises. I'd never heard him do those before, and I felt so bad. and now twice a day I have to hold him down and inject some medication into the side of his mouth.
he should be fine now that I have meds for him, but I'm not. I'm really worried about him. hes my baby, I dont know what I would do if something happened to him.
right now I'm just trying to calm down and keep an eye on him.
