quit Sunrise
Good news! I haven't fallen off the face of the planet. I've just been busy, so I apologize for the tardiness of this entry! A few highlights:
- My crappy computer has finally bit the big one, and I'm currently shopping for another laptop.
- I had to quit my job at Sunrise because of my back. I believe that the majority of the residents at the memory-impaired building where I worked are at nursing home level and not assisted living level (meaning they require much more care than we are equipped or staffed to handle), which made the job much more difficult and strenuous than I expected. My coworkers who also have worked at nursing homes say that Sunrise (the memory unit, specifically) is more difficult. Regardless of all that, however, the work basically just got too hard on my back and I had to quit before I herniated a disc in my spine. No worries, though, I should be doing better soon, and am already feeling better now that I've had a few days to rest.
- I am currently looking for a new job and working on my application for OSU.
- Jon and I are doing wonderful!
