I adapted this recipe today and made some pretty darn delicious and very pumpkin-y cookies!

Preheat oven to 350 F
Cream 1.5 cup vegetable shortening (or butter) with 1/2 c. white sugar and 1/2 c. brown sugar (or use 1 c. white sugar + 1 tablespoon molasses)

Week 10: I was out of town, visiting Jake in Michigan while he defended his Master's.  
My sister picked up the farm share and she got:

garlic
onions with scallion tops
red potatoes
something else I can't remember now

I'm watching the men's 1500 m swimming freestyle trials for the Olympics while Leo sleeps upstairs. I've driven back to Albany with just one child in tow to make sure the house hasn't burned to the ground and pick up our farm share tomorrow afternoon. Every week we have picked up our farm share, it has rained!  Taylor, the farmer who brings the produce, said that it was pretty similar last year: rained every Tuesday for the first 5 or 6 weeks. Weird.
