I've been trying to take Jamie's photo on this gifted blanket with his month stickers each time to document his growth according to the fabric... but it has gotten a lot harder now that he's mobile!
Other words to describe James: inquisitive
Determined
Chubby
Curious
Rock-n-Roll
Finally got him to hold still for one photo! Check out all those chins!
My mom bought "Baby Jamie" this romper last spring.. and I stuffed him into it one last time

At 5 months, James weighs somewhere between 18-19 pounds. He has learned to push up onto all fours and army crawls around and around in circles. He likes cords and will push himself across the room to grab a cord to chew on it. He is still fat and dimpled and rolly in all the right places (like his belly!) but once we put clothing on him he doesn't seem quite so enormous. Has outgrown 3-6 month clothing, which is a good thing since it is finally starting to become more chilly, and all our 3-6 month stuff seemed to be summery clothing. 6-9 month and 6-12 month clothing is a bit long in the legs still, so we're rolling his pants at the cuffs or waist. Pajamas at 6-12 months are just perfect!
Was sleeping really well until his first doozy of a head cold at the beginning of November led him to not be able to breathe and waking up after 40-min stretches all night long. Daddy de-camped to sleep in another room so at least one parent would be rested while Mama dealt with fussy, wanting-to-nurse-but-can't-breathe baby for night upon night that turned into week upon week. Very, very tired.
Still not a good napper during the day, either. Some weeks it seems as though James is getting a "routine" of napping, but as soon as we recognize a "pattern", he changes things up. Poor Megan is very confused! Some weeks he was doing a really good morning nap, then he switched it up and wouldn't sleep in the morning, only the afternoons. Or he'd go down for 30 min, then wake up but could be persuaded to sleep again (as long as it was on Megan's shoulder). Or he'd sleep for 30 min and then refuse to sleep longer. We're all very confused.
Jamie tried mushed bananas just before Thanksgiving and LOVED THEM! He slurped them down like it was his job.
