Ben's rash is cured, I think.  Last night we didn't give him any antihistamine (we'd previously been stepping down the dosage from twice a day to once).  He hasn't had any new outbreaks of spots or welts, so we might be in the clear (FINALLY).  As a reward, both Jake and I caught the virus from Ben.  I was sick all weekend and Jake has been slowly getting better throughout this week.  Plus, once we took Ben off the medication, he rebounded from sleeping very well (antihistamines are apparently sedating in babies) to up at 3 am two nights running and SCREAMING.  He doesn't necessarily need to nurse, but seems to just want to be held and cuddled and interacted with for HOURS.  We try calming him down and putting him back in his crib, but since he's figured out how to stand up he'll pull himself up and yell at the wall adjoining our bedroom.  He's one smart cookie!

Speaking of smarts, he seems to like meeting milestones all at once.  He sat up, then scooted, then crawled and stood up all in a matter of a few weeks.  On Sunday he said 'Mama' for the first time and the next day figured out how to clap his hands together.  The only thing that's missing now is 6 or 7 teeth breaking through all at once!

I'm planning to do a DiTL for the first time this calendar year tomorrow.  I find it easiest to do the Thursday/Friday DiTLs because I can then edit the photos over the weekend when I have a bit more free time.  Trying to do a Monday DiTL and editing the photos for submission before the Thursday deadline is a nightmare.  We'll see if I remember to get the camera ready tonight, though.

This weekend my friend Andi and my sister are celebrating their birthdays, so I need to get their cards in the mail ASAP!  Something else to add to my to-do list tonight.  :-)

It's cold here in Michigan and I'm hosting a PIBS recruit from Virginia on Friday.  He's going to hate it here and decide not to attend UM.

milestones, my girls, family, benjamin
