SNOW DAY

SNOW DAY!

Seriously, I'm watching the news right now and the traffic girl is on much more than the regular news people!  She's just going on and on "car in the median", "accident in the ditch", "parking lot on 696"

Jake got the call at 5:45 this morning that his school is closed. I called my carpool around 6:10.  I tried to go back to sleep like Jake but Olive wanted to be up and outside playing and BP decided that it was necessary I eat something RIGHT AWAY.  So, it's 7 am, I'm having a snow day, and I'm wide awake.

I got another package of diapers last night-- I was so excited!  They are so ridiculously cute I can't wait to put a baby in them!  I figure if I slowly but steadily acquire my stash over these next few months I can spread the cost out.  Ohmigosh-- one of them has an airplane print!  My dad is going to be so excited!

Speaking of Dad-- he's going in for another surgery this morning at 8.  He had his last surgery in Sept where they took out a rod in his right leg that had helped the majority of the fractures heal.  His tibia, however, was not healing and causing him a lot of pain, so they plated the two edges of that bone together.  That helped A LOT and his pain level went down significantly, but then he was able to notice that he was still getting pain in that leg, on the other side.  Turns out his fibula was also fractured and not healing, so they're going in to look at that today and maybe plate it together.  All in all, these final 'tweaking' surgeries should help his mobility and his pain level.  I can't imagine having pain all the time, every day.  It must have been such a relief in Sept to have some of that pain disappear!

Lots of laundry is planned for today and we might try to get to the post office in town to mail Jake's grandmother's present (she lives in Idaho).  Lots of playing with Olive in the snow is on the task list and getting mentally prepared to head to NY for the holidays.

YAY Snow day!  It's my first one in a really, really long time!

happy, dad, family, weather, accident, surgeries
