Tuesdays may shape out to be pretty nice this summer.  So far, Jake has gotten one piano lesson on Tuesdays in Ann Arbor, which means that he drives down with me, drops me off (so I don't have to waste time on the bus), practices at church for his graduate school audition this winter, then comes to have lunch with me!

I think it will be pretty nice, because we get to have that extra hour in the car during the morning to spend time waking up together, we got to sleep in an EXTRA HOUR this morning, and now he's off at the store getting some bread and cheese and things for us to have a picnic in the park!

It doesn't get much nicer than this.

Well, it might be nicer if his piano lesson started before 5 pm, but that just means that we get to come in later and leave later.  He's getting a lot of practicing done at church because we don't have our piano yet.  I get to schedule my incubations around us getting together.  I've got an hour break, a little work, then another hour incubation, so maybe I'll get him to come hang out in lab for a bit and then we can go take a walk together or something.  It's nice being able to get things done and at the same time do things I want to do.

He signed a 'contract' yesterday with his new school, so they've officially offered him the job!  I put 'contract' in quotes because, since this is another charter school there's no union and no binding contracts.  It means that the employees can leave whenever they like (which is good because Jake is leaving Burton-Glen) but also bad because employees can be fired at a moment's notice. He got all their paperwork and insurance stuff and found out more about their operating scheme, which is good.  Things are looking up and this summer is looking to be pretty busy!

I don't think we have a free weekend in July, and we have some weekends in August filled up too.  So far, it looks like the rest of June is free, so we're going to try to get some camping in with our new sleeping bags!  Maybe this weekend would be nice...

summer, jake
