Province Day, Alpha A style

Saturday was the first time I've attended an SAI province day.  This year it was hosted by the Gamma Omicron chapter at Bowling Green State University.

That day reaffirmed all the things that I so loved about SAI when I first joined.  Seriously.  It was an incredibly well put-together event by the GO girls, the speaker was incredible and spoke to things that affect not only women in music but women in other fields and I felt that I could use her message in my own life.

It was wonderful to have the attendance of so many alumni women who joined SAI so many years ago and are still very active in their chapters and their communities, spreading their love of music and promoting music as well as they can.  The 3 Alpha girls (myself included) drove to Ohio with our Province Officer Jennie Ross (nicknamed JRo) and that was an insightful and enlightening experience also.  I can totally see my big, TConn, becoming a province officer in the near future and I can't wait to see all that she can do!

I'm so grateful to SAI for allowing me to continue with music as an integral part of my life and I'm so grateful to attend this province day to share my experience with women from all ages and backgrounds.  Truly, it was music that brought us all together and it was particularly fitting that we closed the day with singing the chorale.

Convention 2009 is being held in Chicago.  I'm planning on taking the train from Ann Arbor.  Any Gamma Delta girls who want to crash at my house beforehand to break up the trip are more than welcome, and if not, I really would like to meet up with you at Convention! :-)
