Today is what we consider to be Olive's birthday. She's officially one year old and fully grown!
At just about 50 pounds and maybe 2.5 feet tall, she's the perfect dog for Jake and I.
We took our Christmas card picture today, as well as a couple cute ones to send to parents and then went to Target to get prints and also to (finally) blow up some photos from the wedding and get some gifts done.
We also got a Christmas tree! Albeit a fake tree and only 6 feet tall, but it's a tree and it's lighted and all of our special ornaments are up and we're feeling very holiday-ish here in Hartland.
Almost all of our shopping for family is done for the year. We've got to finish my brother, buy for my sister's bf, and then get Jake's grandmothers and my Streeter grandparents (although I think we've got them almost done too).
We've been having some money issues lately, but we've figured out where it's mostly gone to (paying off a loan to my parents, gas prices, and buying pizza nearly ever week) so we're going to hopefully get ahead and be able to deal with the bills come January. I think Jake is feeling better now that he's figured out what happened, so that's good.
Classes are almost done for the semester, research is going well and I will be meeting with both mentors in the coming weeks to get a handle on what exactly my project will entail.
Things are looking up, except of course for the massive snow/ice storm we're supposed to get tonight. Maybe we'll be going to church and concert tomorrow and maybe not...
christmas,
family,
