GRINGOTTS ROBBERY! =O *gasp*; Open-ish, but intended for Luna (others can hop in too!)

Dec 08, 2013 23:26

Just an average day really, as Pansy stood waiting in line at Gringotts trying not to make too much eye contact with the creatures behind the desks. They could really use an upgrade at this place. She knew a few witches that would turn the dreary old place into a pleasant establishment to frequent.

HmphExactly WHAT was taking so long? Really, how ( Read more... )

The sound of the loud crack, startled her for only a moment before pure curiosity took over. As people started hitting the ground, she strained her neck trying to see the source of the sound.

She probably wouldn't have been able to see anything anyway, but she had been cut off in mid survey when a man told her to get down.

She didn't argue. She dropped to the floor gingerly as she was told.

It didn't take long before it was clear that the curse hadn't worked. None the less, there was a rising panic in the large lobby.

They were told that they could sit up but to remain close to the ground for protection, while the aurors began to arrive and question the Gobblins.

Luna sat Indian style on the ground, trying to overhear anything to see if there was anything she could do to help, when she saw a face that she recognized.

She thought she recognized it, at least.

"Pansy?" She asked, her voice airy as always.

Of course. Of course on a day such as today, the raven lunatic would be the one to sit down next to her.

"Who are you?" she feigned confusion, the same airy voice in her voice. It was pretty impressive Pansy was able to mimic the voice perfectly. Feet crisscrossed, the Slytherin fluffed her hair a bit, barely looking at the blonde next to her. She was more curious about what was going on with the aurors.

She smiled at Pansy. Of course she wouldn't remember her. They weren't even in the same year, afterall.

"I'm Luna Lovegood. We were at Hogwarts together. You were a year ahead of me I believe." She said with her warmest smile.

"Though I must admit, you've grown more beautiful since you've left." She said, looking at her beautiful hair. Luna had always wanted dark hair, and she appreciated anyone who had it.

Pansy rolled her eyes. Seriously?

"Loony," she exclaimed with realization. "How could I forget?" The last part was dry.

"Of course I have," she sniffed, thought she wasn't exactly sure how to continue the conversation from here.

Eyes narrowed, Pansy glared at all the other people sitting near her, as if they were the cause of her being stuck in this situation in the first place.

Luna stared at her for a while. Much longer than an awkward silence would normally last. It must be nice to be so confident in oneself.

"So what have you been up to since Hogwarts?" She asked with her large eyes wide with curiosity.

"Hanging with people you've probably never spoken to," she replied, this time actually feeling pretty honest and proud of herself for being so. "Working for the Minister as well."

This time Pansy allowed a half smirk to form on her face, clearly feeling proud of the achievement. Hey, if she was stuck here, may as well brag a bit. She didn't bother to ask Looney what she'd been up to.

She nodded politely. "Oh that must be exciting!" She said with an impressed smile.

"I actually worked with the Minister a few months ago. I discovered a sap that heals witches wrist and he presented an award to me." She said offhandedly.

"Have you kept in touch with Draco Malfoy at all? I've actually spent a little time with him recently."

Pansy brushed off the award comment. Honestly, she'd really been working with his wife, and had practically nothing to do with the Minister himself. Still, it was more impressive sounding this way.

But then normal brain function stopped, and Pansy actually stood up in the middle of the crime scene, ready to slap a bitch and walk away. "Ew why are you annoying him? What did he do to you?" she sneered, as though Luna had just admitted to stalking Malfoy, sending him love potioned candies, and petting his golden hair all at once.

Luna smiled and motioned for the brunett to sit back down.
"We've just been working together on the Quidditch word cup stuff. It's being held at his house and I'm in charge of the charity part." She shook her head and sighed. "It's really kind of stressful, but I'm having a good time."

She smiled thinking of Draco. She wasn't sure where they were exactly, but she didn't want to say anything to his friends if he hadn't already.

"I don't think he's minded either. He's quite nice."

"SIT. DOWN." The aurors were stern, and barked right in Pansy's face.

With a sniff, she lowered herself down indignantly, not even having time to move away from the 'crazy' next to her.

That was when she really started registering what Loon was saying. "Oh, you're doing the charity portion." Pansy smiled, realizing she was just Draco's charity case. It made so much more sense, he probably had something huge planned to embarrass her at the match.

"Bet he's really getting you involved huh? Lots and lots of tasks?" She smirked, thinking of several prank possibilities to run past Draco. She must owl him!

She thought for only a moment and then shook her head with a faint smile.

"No, I was already involved. Just so happens he was too. I actually ran into him at the reunion. He was very kind. And a wonderful dancer." She said with a slight giggle, remembering the wonderful night.

But Pansy wasn't listening anymore, she was too busy thinking of Loopy or whatever her name was hanging upside down, screaming.

"Well, make sure you dress up nice for the party then dear, everyone who's everyone will be there. Wouldn't want them to catch you with your knickers down."

She smiled and nodded her head. "I have the perfect dress." She said with a selfish grin. It was the same dress she had warn to Malfoy Manor the night she stayed over. It was going to be a mean gestures--for Draco.

"What are you planning on wearing?"

Pansy raised an eyebrow. Was this girl trying to bond with her? What the bloody fuck? When were the Aurors going to be done?

It seemed like they had someone's wand being tested for its previous spells... C'MON TAXPAYER'S GALLEONS LET'S GET TO WORK!

"Something you couldn't afford."

Luna ignored the quip. She was actually doing just fine due to her discovery, but unlike Pansy, she didn't hold her value based on that.

"I hope it's green. Green brings out your beautiful eyes, If I do recall." She said with a smile.

Pansy gave her a stare that could have scared off a death eater.

"Are you lesbian?" she drawled, scooting further from the other girl. How dreadful. "I know I'm gorgeous. But I'm straight as an arrow, doll."
