Angels of the Night

I've been doing a lot of work on this lately and boy. Do I mean a lot. I just finished editing chapter 26 tonight and I can finally move forward with it. It's no longer an incoherent jumble of ideas like it was in 2002 when I started writing it.

It's really tempting to turn this into a kind of webnovel of some kind. I've been getting a lot of positive feedback on the story, the world its set in, and the characters and designs. It's a bit surprising in a way. I'm glad its getting so much love, but it feels weird at the same time. I often feel like I'm the only one who really likes these little projects of mine. Which is fine. I enjoy this or I wouldn't do it. But fans? Weird. When did this happen?

So, currently, my story word count is up at 86,562 words spaced out over 26 chapters and it's not at a place I would consider to be near the end. It's completely counter intuitive, but the story isn't plotted. I know how it ends, I know all the pertinent details, but I give the characters free reign and just...let it flow. Sure, it holds me back sometimes, but I've been told by several people that the character interactions feel really...natural. Makes me happy.

So possibilities. I'm undecided. I'd like to get another chapter or two written before I make that decision.

As a side note, I may wind up visiting Melphor during NaNoWriMo and writing out a series of short stories telling some of the world mythology and some of its history.
