Mixer's Notes: This is a track compilation for the pairing Dean Winchester/Castiel from the CW show Supernatural. Dean Winchester is one half of the Winchester brothers, a pair of hunters who specialise in everything from putting vengeful spirits to rest, hunting wendigos, to exorcising demons. Between Seasons 3 and 4, Dean ends up in hell as a result of a pact he makes with a demon in order to save his brother Sam's life. After spending 40 years - the equivalent of 4 earth months - in hell, he is rescued by an angel named Castiel.
About the Mix: This mix comes in three parts, and is entirely instrumental. The first part deals with Dean's time in hell, the second part represents Castiel's rescue, and the third part is the original mix inspired by the Dean/Castiel pairing. The booklets linked below contain notes - for Part I and Part II, the notes are in-character and written from Castiel's perspective. For Part III, the notes consist of memorable quotes taken from the show. Hopefully these booklets will shed some light on what I was aiming to achieve with this mix!
"Quoniam tu mecum es" is the Latin phrase that follows after "Non timebo mala", the inscription found on The Colt - a weapon featured in a major capacity throughout Seasons 2 to 5. Together, the phrase "Non timebo mala, quoniam tu mecum es" translates in English to "I will fear no evil, for thou art with me", which is a part of Psalm 23:4 in the Bible.
