Maybe they were Right About Me:
applies eagerly, accepts work blindly.
Unlike any candidate that they did see
Fit for a spot within the company.
For an eternity, I made my pleas;
"Let me be here," "Why should We?"
... "She's just too nice; a real softy,"
Another way to describe Naivety.
But lacking experience makes it easy
to mold newbies into true employees.
Some distant promises given with sincerity,
whose success comes from years of Loyalty.
Mistakes became clear; I was no longer free,
I never knew fear until they trapped me.
"Just sign here," they'd say confidently.
Maybe they were Right about Me.

You thought you were about to do something good for yourself. Once you started, you realized how wrong you were and nothing went right. You're afraid to walk away, because you just made your arrival; it's not just business, it's about survival. It's difficult to move on when you feel you aren't growing. It's hard to be strong when you are alone. Have you ever felt like you sold your soul? That's the best way I can describe my experience. I feel weak, but trying to hold on.
