My brother put his speakers in there and is showering now...yuck. I'm hoping he doesn't take too long of a shower because I don't really like rap music. Anyway. I went shopping with my mom today and it was awesome and we went to Banana Republic and I got some really cute grown up clothes and she told me I had to retire my teal skirt that I've had since my senior year of high school. I like that skirt and it goes well with everything, but if I have to I will.
Before I went shopping, however, I had a little phone interview! It was with Bier Magazine, which I think I may have mentioned yesterday. I wasn't super psyched about the internship because it was listed as being on Long Island, and I didn't really want to work out there. So here are all the details of the internship: it's freelance, so I do it on my own time and don't have to come in to an office ever, and it's unpaid. Pretty much all the job entails is me going to bars and writing reviews of them. I can also go to breweries and do a write up on them, like how it was started, etc etc. Once a month they have photo shoots, and those are on Long Island and they're always on a Saturday (pretty much everyone in this project is a freelancer, so the hours are very workable), and there are beer parties every once in awhile. So basically, why wouldn't I take it?
I'm heading down to NYC next week (which I probably also mentioned last time) and the trip is set. I'm coming down on Thursday and am leaving Saturday night. My mom is meeting me on Friday morning so I get a whole hotel room to myself so I invited Victoria to come visit! Maybe I'll write my first article that night! I'm so excited about looking at apartments. There's one I'm looking at on 86th and Lex, and that room sounds ideal. I need to contact one girl to see whether her apartment has been taken yet or not, and that's in the East Village. I looked in Brooklyn, but nothing's really going on there for me apartment-wise. Gah I'm so excited!!!!!!! I'm also going to pick up and fill out some job apps when I'm apartment hunting just in case! Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, places like that.
