It was amazingly easy for Riley to drop what he was doing in order to make his way over to Parker's because he really wasn't doing much of anything but hiding up in his room, listening to overly sappy music and putting his emotions into a okay-at-best song he'd been writing.
He silently walked down the staircase, no desire to call into an obviously empty house (the girls, Liz, and Will were out for the day at a birthday party for one of their friends). Glancing around the living room, Riley picked a crayon off the floor and quickly scribbled a note down on a sheet of parchment, setting it above the mantel where he was sure his.. parents... would see it.
Sighing, he tossed a pinch of floo powder into the fire before stepping in to make the short trip to his friends home.
Riley took a moment to think about where he'd like to go. Really, he had no preference. However, he did know where he'd rather not be.
"Not that place we went with Bletchley last time" He shook his head, scratching the back of it, "I er- I pissed off one of the waitresses there and I'm pretty sure she'll spit in my food. You want to head over to the Leaky Cauldron?"
Stepping out behind him, straightened his shoulders back and walked around the other boy to head for the counter. "Needing drinks. Two shots of Jameson to start and then we'll decide from there."
Pulling up a stool, he made sure to tug another stool close enough nearby that Riley would have a place to sit as the bartender put the Irish whiskey shots on the counter. "Starting a tab, then?"
"Just talking a lot of shit to my mother, that's all. Apparently she's taken it upon herself to make sure I don't end up- how did she put it? Fucking my life into a sewer just for some hot piece of ass," he finished, quoting his sister's words as best he could remember them.
"Probably should've just had you over sooner to distract her," he added after a moment, smirking sideways at his friend before tipping his own shot back.
"Right, because I'd keep her occupied for no more than a few minutes before she'd become bored of me."
Chuckling, Riley shook his head. Parker's sister was rather attractive, but for some reason he found it difficult to have her around with the whole best mate's sibling vibe coming off her.
"Sounds like someone knows too much. Don't tell me you were dim and confessed some things you shouldn't have to your dear sibling?"
"Probably not," he answered after a moment, pausing to mull over the issue for a moment before signaling for more drinks. "She has a point anyway, at least about the fact that I'd be better with someone a little more- well, someone else."
"What did you want, by the way" he asked Riley, motioning toward the man waiting to take their order.
ooc: I noticed. o.o It's really almost evil. How dare you. It's unnatural temptation, I think you should know.
I'll stop by and we'll figure something out.

"Can't take it here anymore, so we're heading out. Got any request for where we're heading? Speak now."

"After you," he told Riley, nodding toward it and letting his arm fall so that the other boy could move into the flames.

Parker nodded.

"How's the sister?" He inquired before throwing back the shot with a satisfied grin, "She been driving you a bit nutty lately?"

"And no, I would never be such an idiot. She just happened to catch on to too much when she ran into her at your little Arts event."

"Ahh, I see." He nodded slowly, drumming his fingers on the bar, "I suppose that meeting didn't go well?"

"You know how girls are. Much too obvious for their own good at sometimes, and completely impossible to read at others."

"Aye, that they are." He agreed, glancing over at his mate, "So what are you going to do? Wait until Mummy forgets?"
ooc: Heh! Thought you'd like it. I just got a bunch of new ones.
