We rot here, somewhere*

From my fourth floor office terrace, I watch the traffic on the Inner Ring Road behave and misbehave every time I step out for coffee. It has to be one of the most fascinating things to watch: The people behind these wheels are normal ordinary people, perhaps you work with them, live with them, are married to them, meet them for lunch on a regular basis, etc etc. And yet behind the wheel, they become unrecognizable monsters. Witless and scum of the earth we'd all love to hate.

I think the traffic situation in India is reflective of our attitude as a nation. We're always 5 minutes away when we've actually not started. If someone else tries to get ahead, we must mow them down. So that none of us get anywhere.

We're in a hurry, to get nowhere.

*Apologies, Heisenberg.
