Merry however many shopping days til Christmas!
Shopping with family or siblings can either be a wonderfully amusing time(destroyed Christmas carols, mocking ads in stores) or they can lead you to want to go hide in a cave til the whole mess is over. Today, I spent my whole day...from 10 a.m. til 7 p.m. shopping with my brother. It was a WONDERFUL time. A few moments...
wandering through the mall...getting yelled to by every hard-working cell phone hawker and finally
Cell phone hawker, after we've said no thank you: Can I ask you a quick question?
My brother: You just did! Merry Christmas!
As we walked he looked at me, "I've always wanted to do that."
I just sighed, felt bad for the cell phone person, and giggled on the inside.
Me: Alright, why don't you run you to your apartment, drop off the bags, grab your DVD's and we'll return them on the way to Target:
Rob: OK!
Me: *Waiting in car...watches as Rob runs back down, picks up a snowball and throws it as my windshield. Looking him in the eye, I turn the wipers on. He laughes and opens the car door* DVD's to return?
Rob: CRAP! I remembered to go to the bathroom, though.
Driving around today, Rob likes to dance in the car. This is both kind of dumb and VERY entertaining...so Rob dances in the car while I drive and laugh.
Yesterday, I spent the day baking cookies with friends, naturally this involved a lot of frosting, 15 sticks of butter(yes. 15. My arteries are crying)
But I am just exhausted from all this and am finishing out my night with bubble bath and "Its a Wonderful Life."
So I will leave you with this. Last year, I went shopping with my mom the day after Thanksgiving and this little old woman was trying to cross in front of all the busy traffic and a car wanted to go through and honked, loud and hard at her.
Another woman looked at the car and yelled "PEACE AND GOODWILL!!!"
And with that, I wish you all a Merry Before Christmas night and want you, every time some jerk cuts you off, every time some person annoys you in a busy store or line just yell "PEACE AND GOODWILL."
At least you won't get cited for profanity in public.
