Sorry for your pants housemate. She sounds very blunt, but also extremely rude. If she'd decided to be that blunt she could have at least had a little more tact, argh. I wouldn't worry about her though, if she can't stand 'odd behaviour' I'd like to know how she'll cope in another country for a year, where everyone will have 'odd behaviour' in comparison.
I had a 'friend' come out with things like that to me once, she then proceeded to make my life hell for two years. But in a way I'm glad she did because I didn't rely on anyone after that, I gained some independance and I learnt more about myself through that independance. Although she's still a complete cow, and I'll never forgive her for the way she did it.
Agreeing with comments above, some people just aren't meant to live together. Me and a couple of my friends know that if we live together we'll end up killing each other at some point and I know of friends who lived together and now don't speak because of it. It's crap.
Is it worth being yourself if people hate you for it? Yes. Because then you know that those people aren't worth your time and by being yourself you attract the people who are.
Thanks :) I really wish I'd noticed something was wrong earlier. She didn't even say goodbye when she left. I don't think we'll be friends again--and I blush to think of the way I've acted because I thought we *were* friends. I must have been so annoying.
But I guess...what's done is done. I just have to make sure I work on her (valid) criticisms--because some of what she said was fucking tosh--so I can be a better housemate to a nicer person.
