My birthday was lovely :) Got my hair done (by 'done', I mean lots of scarlet highlights) and we went to a lovely Chinese restaurant where I ate all I was allowed to :) Chicken satay (without the sauce), garlic beef, duck, fried rice, boiled rice, pork with an odd chili thing...most delicious thing I've had in my life.
Now I'm back at university, making a very poor attempt at revision. I've covered Pamela and Joseph Andrews, but I've only read Oroonoko and I've completely lost Evelina. Tomorrow I'ma go into the library at nineish and sit down and get some feminist criticism for epic and mock-epic poetry. I think I'm alright with lyric poetry. BLASONS SUCK, Astrophil and Stella is awkward, Lady Mary Wroth's sonnet sequence gives the woman a voice but not a man, Amoretti rules.
I'm not too bothered about Victorian lit. I love it, and passing it is pretty much a certainty. I do want to do WELL, though, so I'll sit and catalogue all the themes that come up in the books and poetry (transcience, degeneration, etc.)
Writing Society--Chaucer to Wyatt--yeah, now there's a headache. The lecture we had today on it was totally chill, though. 'Oh, just revise six texts. You can get a first. However, last year 20 people failed.'
SO after only doing an hour and a half of revision today I'm watching the video from the show (and need to figure out how to get some songs onto YT to show you guys) and angsting about how fat I look. On the plus side, I sound amazing.
And you know how I always get an obsessive interest in something when I'm revising. Last year it was Buffy, the year before that BPAL. Now, I think it's going back to roleplaying over at Hogwarts_Hocus. Maia, Mel and Rose have all shown up recently and I think they're gonna be a mainstay until the day before the actual exam.
Next door are having some building work done and they're using a pneumatic drill. I probably couldn't get any work done like this anyway...
