I haven’t posted anything in quite a while, so I thought I’d do a little update.
Life has been going along. Mostly, it’s good and generally happy. I seem to spend most of my time thinking about wedding stuff; planning is coming along nicely.
Dresses for my bridesmaids were ordered on Friday. It was really easy, in the end, and I am really grateful to all the girls for making it so. I think that everyone looks wonderful in the dresses they chose, and I’m very excited to know that everyone in my wedding party is going to look beautiful.
On Sunday, Mark and I had our first pre-marital counseling session. It was surprisingly fun. I was a little nervous, but we had a really good time. I love our pastor; he’s so much fun (we went on a Serenity/Castle tangent). He seemed to think that we have good communication skills, which made me happy, because I think we do and I’m glad he agrees.
Speaking of Castle, I just want to comment that I love the writers, and/or the producers, and Nathan Fillion (no or there), and/or anyone and everyone who had anything at all to do with the first sixty seconds of Monday’s episode. They made my whole week. And, being a dork, I bought Heat Wave (Nathan Fillion on the back cover!) last night. We’ll see if it’s worth reading (I’m going to finish my current book before starting it). In any case, I think it’s a clever marketing idea.
I had a minor sad moment yesterday. While we dithered, the condo we were planning to rent for our honeymoon has been rented for that week. On the bright side, there seems to be a small possibility that we’ll be able to get the unit above it, so I’ll be able to punish the people who got there before us by stomping a lot. I’m just kidding, of course; the upper units have better views and are as a result more expensive. I’ll be delighted if we manage to get one in our price range.
We are supposed to go to Wicked tonight with friends. I’m the only one who’s seen it to date, so I’m bound and determined that we will get there no matter what the weather. So please wish us good luck and a safe drive.
Which reminds me… stupid snow. Yuck. If you like it, more power to you. As for me, I am not pleased that spring was snowy and cold late into this year and autumn came early.
I’ve recently started listening to classical music in an effort to pin down ceremony music. I hadn’t listened to much before, but what I had listened to, I thought I liked. I was wrong. I love it. I adore it. I am blown away by the very thought that anyone could consider this music to be boring.
So that’s what’s up with me. Not terribly exciting, I know. But I’m pretty happy with it.
