Harry is a Parselmouth, so he heard at least a part of whatever Tom had said that had recorded. Useless, really -- Tom already knows Harry is intertwined with him somehow. It's just how that he needs to figure out.]

If they were standing within feet of one another, Tom would be able to tell Harry was lying in a heartbeat. As it is now, he is fairly certain, but his Legilimency cannot work over the network.
