Ay, mi Isla Bonita...!

Last night (or this morning depending on how you look at it) there was a large explosion. This morning I look outside and am confronted with some of the most compelling images I've seen. You can't really appreciate them in the pictures but trust me it was very shocking.

Turns out that 11 out of the 40 giant holding tanks for the Gulf (gasoline) refinery 'mysteriously exploded' somewhere around midnight.

Rumors from everything to a 'malfunction' to terrorism have been flying around since it happened.

Personally, I think it was done intentionally, due to the following:
-It was a giant refinery and only 10 workers were there, no one was injured.
-People spotted a 'ball of fire' flying through the air towards the refinery's general direction.
-This morning on the radio people started calling in saying that they had seen graffiti saying : "Boom, Fire, RIP, Gulf, Soul" in several places and that it had been there for days.
-The firemen can't access the emergency water pipes that have been built for the very event that something like this would occur are now found to be 'damaged'.

I think that with the way things have been going on in the Island that people are getting angry and desperate.
Mass layoffs, reduction of work hours, people not getting paid. Last year the Government literally closed because there was no money to pay the employees. OK, maybe you didn't get that, the government CLOSED because there was NO MONEY to pay the EMPLOYEES

And here I am studying to be a school teacher. The Department of Education is complete shit. Getting in is a battle and then getting in only to not get paid. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.

I've thought about graduating and then moving on to live in the US. But I don't even know anymore.

GoogleMaps showing the location of everything that was consumed by the resulting flames inside the red circle:

No, I can't believe it... no wait... This is Puerto Rico, of course somebody already made a meme about it.
