I wasn't this attached to the other two budgies. Bob was hand tame when I first got him, and loved scritches around his chin and cheeks. He wasn't terrified of everything like the other two budgies we came to have (and who have passed before him). He would bathe in wet lettuce leaves we hung in the cage, and eat the baby carrots we left for him. The other two would observe his behavior and eventually follow suite. He liked playing with the toys I kept in his cage, and would regurge at his reflection all the time. When he was out of food our water he'd chirp in a certain way that let us know he needed more. He liked the sound of running water, sitting in the sunshine while looking at the sky, and certain kinds of music. He liked classical best.
Rest in peace my little friend! You deserve all the budgie candy bars and dark green lettuce leaves you crave. May you find happiness with many lovely bird friends in heaven just as beautiful as you. Thank you giving me and my family such joy with your garbled chatter. We will never ever forget the years of entertainment and companionship you provided us. You are unique and have taken a piece of my heart with you. Maybe one day, I'll find you and get it back.
I send my love you to, my friend, wherever you are. I dearly hope that one day we will be together again.
