Funny how I used to update on a daily basis but now, not so much. I don't spend as much time on the computer as I used to. I think that's a good thing. I have made some progress in the last four years. All thanks to Edward, of course, however, who knows what will happen when we live together...
Since I don't feel like going to bed yet, I figure I update on the bland happenings of my life. You are not obligated to read.
Thursday: Went to El Presidente for the first time because one of my managers got a promotion and left to another Washington Mutual. We had to say our goodbyes and congrats. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the food. I think Who Song's is my mexican food preference and nothing seems to compare. Also, I was one of the few people there who don't drink. But, the event gave me the opportunity to try the food and most likely, I'll eat there again. It's also unfortunate that I talk about food in my livejournal. But as for my manager, I am sad that he's gone but the guy who came in his place is very cool. He has a thick New Zealand country boy accent. I am just thankful that they didn't hire a woman. Who wants to deal with the power trip and PMS of a woman?
Friday: Had a crazy day at work. As long as nobody hits on me, I love crazy days at work. I also consider Friday the day that Spring Break officially started because school was absolutely pointless. I went to Clark and spent 50 minutes listening and learning every detail about MLA documentation. Oh, how I hate the Modern Language Association.
I went to Edward's, like I do everyday of the week. We went to the mall to find me a prom dress. That was the beginning of my prom dress search. Afterwards, we watched Napoleon Dynamite. The first for both of us. I have to admit, I didn't really like it. Maybe there was too much hype, maybe I need to watch it again, or maybe I just don't get it. Whatever it was, another huge disappointment. We also went to La Center that night. Edward gambled his $30 at the Palace and Chips and I contributed another 10. I don't like New Phoenix because I get stared down by Viet people. {shudder} Got a comp and by then, it was a little after 3am. Decided that we should head back to Vancouver and I went home.
Saturday: Woke up to my mother praying to this pig in the middle of the living room.
Strange as it is. After an hour of silence, my mom and I began talking. She proceeded to cut off a rather large chunk of pork and offered it as a gift to Edward's mom. I left with a giant chunk of pork in a large bowl. I gave it to Edward's mom and in return, she gave my mom the lumpia she made in the morning. Even more strange. I am frightened. This is a milestone! Eventually, they're going to meet. I am not ready for this. After hours of trying to wake up Edward, he finally got up and we headed off to the bank to do our finances together. It's so complicated sometimes, but all is well.
Afterwards, we went hunting for a prom dress on 23rd. I <3 23rd! It was fun. I have the best boyfriend to go shopping with, nobody can combine fashion, enthusiasm and humor like he does. Prom dress shopping evolved into browsing through prom accessories, which led to checking out clothes, which led to checking out furniture for our future apartment. I love planning our lives together. <3 We also ate at Rose's Deli and Bakery for the first time. Fairly good. After buying nothing, we couldn't go to any tux rental places because all the Mr. Formal's were closed. Instead, we went to Lloyd Center and Clackamas for my dress that I liked at Mariposa [yes, I liked a dress at Mariposa]. Nowhere to be found. We left with the Tupperware hamburger press that Edward had been looking for. Yippie!
Went to Fusion for some avocado bubble tea but they ran out, again! Grrr... there's a sale on avocados at Safeway, 10 for 10. I think I might get some to make some shakes. I learned that when Edward dropped me off at Safeway so he could go get his Hennessy. I can't be in the car, they won't let him purchase because they think that I'm going to drink it. Haha, they're funny. Then we headed off to buy my prom dress. I got a prom dress! It's over. No more prom dress shopping! YESSSSSSS!!! And I got it done in only two days. I am so good. It's white, and I don't care if I look like I'm going to a wedding. I've wanted a white dress since freshman year and it's about time I got one. Last chance! =)
These are my horrible pictures... but at least you can see the dress!
After dropping a large sum of money on that dress, which I will never wear again after prom, we went back to his place. Hung out for a little bit. His friends came, I went home, they went to Barracuda's. And I am here, typing the longest livejournal entry ever. Doubtful that anyone has read through this, that is why I posted up the few pictures. It captures the main part of the entry. I have a prom dress!! Woot woot! [did I just woot woot?] No more typing, I think I have bored myself. Goodbye.
