Greetings from Plan Peisey! The season is well underway and it is due to snow 30cm tonight which means....POWDER DAY FOR MY BIRTHDAY! The clouds are coming in as I type and Mt Blanc had a HUGE cloud hat over it this morning so I am pretty excited!

We had a pretty good Christmas considering we had to work. Christmas Eve there was a band on at the bar next to our accomodation, so we were all out partying and dancing on the tables until 2am with a bunch of brussel sprouts one of the nannies had brought along in her handbag. Getting up at 6.30 am was surprisingly ok, I don't think I drank that much because I was leaping around too much and spilling my wine everywhere before I could drink it! When we got in we served a delicious breakfast to our guests (family of 7) and they gave us these amazing earmuffs as a Christmas present! We met up with everyone at the bottom of the lift for mince pies and mulled wine and champagne and hipflasks full of tasty alcohol because we hit the slopes - mainly stayed around one lift because there was some fantastic powder skiing through the trees.

Had an interesting transfer yesterday - last week's guests left at 10.30am and half the new ones turned up at 11.30, about 10 minutes after the entire week's shopping was delivered. Fortunately they were keen to get out on the slopes as quickly as possible, so I hauled them off to the ski hire shops and popped them on the nearest lift as quickly as possible just so we could get the food away and turn the wretched chalet around. The other guests didn't get in until 10.45 pm, so it was quite a long day. Not as long as the weekend before when Abi and I had to get up at 4am (we were in different chalets as ours were shut - Marmotton's host hurt his shoulder on the first day of skiing, and I was put in Bouquetin to help out as the dishwasher was broken) to see off early leaving guests, and our new guests didn't get in until midnight, then wanted a 3 course meal! Aaaargh! They were really nice though (the ones who gave us our earmuffs)

Hurry up and snow!!
