This weekend was quite the toil; in addition to the mounds of revising I've had to attend to, my new role as Captain of the quidditch team has kept me extraordinarly busy. On Friday after dinner I tried out reserve players; half of the team is young and unseasoned, which is something of a concern, but I convinced Blaise to sign on as reserve chaser. I am put at ease by this decision, as Blaise was most undoubtedly born to chase. Ermengarde Teesdale actually tried out for reserve beater, and I have to say it was something quite horrible to endure. Her beater's bat--and who knows where she got such a thing--was one of those novelty jobs that erupts pink and yellow stars whenever it hits a bludger. The stars would then distract her and cause her to overturn on her broom. I told her that I wouldn't allow anyone on the team who didn't know how to dress herself properly beneath her quidditch robes. Now the whole team is living with the nightmarish fact that Ermengarde Teesdale wears day-of-the-week knickers. She could have at least made her knickers correspond with the date properly... she ought to have been wearing Friday pants, not Tuesday pants. Greg pointed this out helpfully and Ermengarde began to wail and tantrum. What an absolute trial.
I really didn't have time to be idle and naff about Hogsmeade the other day. I did, however, find time to do some shopping with Blaise and Millicent, in which we three all chipped in on various necessities for Pansy's impending enrollment at Beauxbatons. I purchased a Beauxbaton's Uniform in your size from Madam Malkin's, Pansy; it is an icy sort of blue colour, with silvery trim. Blaise found a box of red cigarettes for you--they are the kind he himself smokes and he assures me they are all the rage in France. Millicent took it upon herself to order your school books in French, plus translation parchment you can use until you become adept at the language. All the packages are under my desk, ready for you to collect. Will you be packing soon, then? Let me know if you need any help.
