Where I am with CoE.
Is anyone else finding it really hard to call Children of Earth canon? Not because we don't want it to be, but because it just doesn't tie in with the previous seasons at all. RTD has to be lying if he says he wrote the story FOR Torchwood. He didn't. He had a story and he thought it would be interesting to put the Torchwood team in that situation and see what happened.
Since I doubt we'll be seeing much, if ANY of Jack next season and it seems RTD is going to start from scratch, I think it's fair to call Children of Earth AU. The way I see it, CoE was just an example of one path the team could take. While I didn't hate it, it's not going to be a part of my personal canon.
I really didn't want to write anymore about it, but there we go. I think that will be the last of it now. I'm gonna go to sleep and dream about coffee and pterodactyls before I have a Torchwood S2 marathon tomorrow :D
