I have had seriously no time to breathe of late, so you will be getting the bullet point, detail-free summary of the significant events.
- Mr. Rug (renamed Rugby once he was groomed and pretty) was given to a nearby rescue group who will be putting him on a truck to Oregon with the Oregon SPCA. They have plans for a foster home until he is adopted. We miss him terribly, but heading to Oregon is definitely in his best interests as that will prevent his drug-addict former owner from ever finding him.
- Just as Rugby left, Marley returned! In true labrador style, she is destroying everything in her wake with a huge smile and a tail that wags her whole body. She and Anubis fell in love at first sight, which is a miracle, because no dogs like Anubis. The house has been a pretty rowdy place with the two of them sprinting back and forth, wrestling, biting, leaping, and knocking things over (including the people), but they are having a delightful time.
- I had my interview with the Fremont PD yesterday. At the time, I came away thinking that it went really well. After I have had time to rethink and second guess everything, I have very little confidence. They say that the average number of oral boards a recruit experiences before actually being hired is 7. I now have 1 down; 6 to go.
- I'll be going on a ride-along with the Tracy PD on Saturday. I chose the swing shift in the hopes of actually experiencing a little excitement. Now, I have to see if I can find someone to take care of the little one while I'm gone, and I have absolutely no idea what I'll do with Marley. I have visions of Marley and Me in my head.
There will be pics to follow of the well-groomed Rugby and his destruction along with Marley who loves socks, shoes, and anything rubbery to eat.
