So it's been absolutely amazing weather here. I love it. It's nice and warm and sunny. I was in my Calc class and the guy a couple rows over looks at some of us and goes "Well, it's warm. The girls are finally coming back to Purdue." I hadn't really noticed it, but he's true. During the cold, you never see like girls on campus. You see them running from building to building, but like you don't see them sitting on the benches or standing outside or anything. Walking to class now, you'll see the girls like just sitting on the grass, or walking with friends. But you notice the hooches too. Like the short little skirts that you can see their ass in, even when they stand up straight.
Anyway...it's warm!
So last night I had a History 152 exam. I honestly love that class. It makes me want to become a history teacher. It was an essay test. We had 2 hours to write 6 essays. I took 1hour and 15 minutes, and wrote 6 essays on 16 pages of a blue book (thats a whole bluebook people)! I think I did good. It was on Woodrow Wilson, World War I, The 20's and "The Lost Generation". I'm thankful I took Fr. John's Great Events class. That was a big help, and I actually used some info he gave us on this exam.
So last week in class in history we were talking about "The Lost Generation", and Randy (my prof who doesn't like to be called Dr. or Professor) was like "Has anyone read T.S. Eliotts The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock?" So I raise my hand as we all do to his question (now mind you we're in the biggest lecture hall on campus, and we fill it with like 400 some kids). As I do this, I take a nibble on my cookie. I mean it's a 3 hour class. And to my horror he goes "Only 1 person! So whats it's about?" I found myself saying FUCK with cookie in my mouth. So I swallow what I can, shove what I can't into a cheek, and mummbled quite auidbly "Unrequited love, and self consiousness." Randy was impressed and I think felt a little sorry for me, because it didn't ask me to elaborate. I was sooo embarassed.
So as most of you know I'm in an organization called College Mentors for Kids! (CMFK!). I love this more then anything else...it is my 1 big envolvement here at Purdue. Well last night was also the elections for executive board for next year. Well...I wasn't able to attend because of my class/exam. BUT......I WON! I'm the new Activities Director for Thursday. That means it's my job to coordinate activities for all 4 grades. I need to secure rooms, book speakers, and other fun things like that. I'll also help plan a Christmas and Easter party, as well as a end of the year banquet for the kids. In addition I'll have to help with new mentor training, and the mentor retreat. I'm so excited. I guess our Vice President (Becca) stood up and was like "Ok, Brian is an amazing guy. He's really hard working, and he's great with his little buddy." And then my friend Amy (who will be the NEW VP) stood up and said something, and then everyone else from my grade (1st grade! W00T W00T!) cheered and everything. I feel loved.
I have a 5K walk for CMFK this weekend. I'm hoping the weather stays this nice. The only suck thing is it's at 9am..so I know that means I'll have to be there at like 8. Meaghan is going to walk, and so is Val and her roommate/sorority sister Jessica. I'm trying to get Meaghan's roommate Mandy to walk too. Mandy's so funny. I love when I'm just chilling in Meaghan's room with her and Mandy. We just joke around and laugh. Or we'll get Mandy's friend Dustin and try and teach him and Meaghan how to play Euchre...(OMG It's so bad it's funny!)
So I only have like 36 days of school left. Well 26 days of class, then dead week and finals and then my "down days" til I get to come home. But that doesn't mean school's done. I'm taking a Chem class at SCraft. OH WHAT FUN. My advisor wants me to take Organic Chem next semester so she wants my 2nd sem. of Gen. Chem done by Aug. GRRR advisors.
I think thats about all...Oh I had a huge ass wasp in my room when I came back from class today...But I killed it with a shoe.
OK...later days everyone!
