Rumours of my demise...
...are only very narrowly exaggerated.
If you've not seen or heard from me in the past two months, it's because I've been working around 10 hours per day on average, with bursts of 12-15 hour days in there in places.
My schedule last week was: Monday--10 hours, Tuesday--10 hours, Wednesday--13 hours (until 10:30 PM), Thursday--12 hours (starting at 5:30 AM, with a break from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, then more work until 2:00 AM Friday), Friday--9 hours (starting at noon and ending at 9:00 PM).
One hopes that we're through the crush period and that management has finally figured out that they cannot overcommit to our customer in this way. I spent all of Saturday either asleep or trying unsuccessfully to get to sleep, with a few hours of zombie-like staring at a computer screen and clicking buttons, and totally useless. I spent just over half of Sunday asleep.
As such, if you've not seen me lately, it's not because I don't love you. If you've seen me at all, it's because I clearly like you more than life-giving sleep.
