I HATE EVERYTHING

So since I’ve moved into the house I’ve had an ongoing battle with my internet provider, Virgin. I was recommended them by a couple of people, and since they are the only provider in the area it made sense to go with them.

Let me tell you. Never fucking again.

We signed up for a Student contract, a 9 month contract instead of a 12 month contract since we’re not going to be in the house that long, and we also asked for quick installation because even though that meant we’d have to set it up ourselves, it was the difference of two weeks over manned which was three weeks wait. I also applied for paper bills, because I have yet to set up the ‘bill account’ for my house. They sent me an email to confirm the order, and our installation for the 20th of October.

Wait, what? Installation? I didn’t ask for that. They also send me an email thanking me for selecting E-billing, instead of paper billing. Okay so that’s two things they’ve done the opposite of my order. So we call to complain, and we get this nice Scottish guy who organises to get our internet sent out in two days, but for some reason they still need to install the phone. That’s okay, since on the recipt I got online it said any installations would be free, so I wasn’t really worried about this.

So we get our internet kit and set it up, but we can’t actually get on the internet. Turns out, they never activated our modem, which they should’ve done, and by the time we’d figured that out, it was too late to call and ask them to set it up. I guess that’s no problem either, I’ll just call in the morning and get them to activate it.

Oh but then it gets about three times as worse.

So I get my contract in the mail this morning. Apparently, according to the contract, I signed up for a 12 month minimum contract and ontop of that they want to charge for Broadband installation and phone installation, totalling up to £40 each. That’s £80. £80 that I didn’t ask to be charged for, and the broadband is already fucking set up. And since this house had a virgin media phone line before we moved in, the phone installation cannot be anything more than PLUGGING A PHONE INTO A SOCKET and turning our phone ON.

And the worst part of this is that when I called to complain I was transferred to an Indian gentleman, who had no idea what I was talking about, told me I couldn’t be helped after almost five minutes of being on hold and then finally decided to transfer me to someone who COULD help me. And the moment I connect with her, I get cut off because I ran out of calling credit on my mobile because we don’t have a phone yet.

silverbrumby123 has gone out to buy more credit on her phone so we can actually try and get it sorted TODAY but I really doubt anything will be done about it. I don’t think they actually have gotten a single thing on my original order right. It’s like they saw my order and just were like

YOU KNOW WHAT I DON’T THINK THIS IS RIGHT LET’S CHANGE IT!!!

And I know this sounds horrible but I don’t want to talk to fucking India, when half the time I can’t understand what the other person on the other end is actually saying. And nobody actually knows HOW TO HELP ME. Fkjdgkjndfkjdfjkgf
