the crazy adventures of pura
Okay so I was originally going to post a livejournal entry before I left, but then I woke up and started to panic because I couldn't check in online because I didn't have an ESTA form, and by the time it had been sorted out I was in the car on the way to the train station. And I'm stingy so I didn't want to pay for internet at the airport.
BUT ANYWAY. I AM IN AMERICA NOW!! \o/ With the lovely somnomania who kept her vigil at the airport even though my flight was delayed AND immigration took about two hours. Didn't actually get to her house till 6am English time, so I was kind of wiped 8|b
ANYWAY HERE IS A BRIEF SUMMARY OF MY TRIP:
- First thing I do? Cut up my nails in the shower by slipping whilst shaving my legs. I have a huge hole in my middle finger nail now, and it wont stop bleeding.
- OH GOD I DON'T HAVE THIS FORM AND I'M NOT SURE IF I NEED ONE OR NOT BECAUSE I'M A BERMUDIAN AND WE DON'T NEED VISASSS AAAAAA
- Got one just in case since it took seconds to apply for and get an approval.
- ON THE FIRST TRAIN! I'm predicting that I'm not going to look forward to this trip on the underground by my self.
- UNDERGROUND. Yup I was right. Why the fuck are there so many stairs. omg >:(
- ON THE HEATHROW EXPRESS TRAIN! I met a really nice Irish lady and we got talking about how nervous we get taking trips and it made me feel a little better that I'm still PANICKING
- AT THE AIRPORT. Its a good thing I did that thing just in case or they wouldn't have let me check in. My panicking has good reason apparently? Now to kill three hours.
- omfg why is my plane delayed. I've been waiting half an hour past when the gate number was supposed to open, but it's still flashing PLEASE WAIT AT ME. OMG.
- YAYYYYY ON THE PLANE. We ended up being delayed in the end because someone tried to land in our spot and there was a transformers plane fight? idk, the captain didn't know. And speaking of which, he's a fucking badass and uses terms like 'Welcome to the SILVER EAGLE IN THE SKY THIS IS GOING TO BE AN AWESOME FLIGHT K'
- Okay so the entertainment system is fucked up. All the stuff is mixed up, so I went to watch Alice in Wonderland out of sheer curiosity, and something called Crazy Heart came on instead. I'm now going through all the movies and making a list of what it is instead of what it's supposed to be because I'm supid.
- Never did find Alice in Wonderland, but I watched Fantastic Mr Fox again and then watched.. HTTYD because I have not seen that film enough times. Shutup.
- Omg even the music is mixed up, let me listen to stuff 8(
- Sitting next to a lady who is a nervous flyer, so I'm offering her support and we got to talking. She's really nice and I think we're going to go through immigration together because we're both on her own and it's her first time going to the USA and she's scared.
- I hate planes. I can sleep on trains, boats and cars but not planes. ever. I am so tired.
- NEXT PANIC: MY SIGNATURE IS DIFFERENT TO THE ONE I SIGNED ON THE CUSTOMS FORM FUCK THEY ARE GOING TO PUT ME IN A LITTLE ROOM AND ASK ME QUESTIONS AND THINK I'M STEALING SOMEONE'S IDENTITY.
- WE LANDED! HI NEW YORK. Now to get through immigration. The captain was even more awesome and was all 'All good things must come to an end :C See you guys soon!' I also held Joan's (the lady I was next to) hand when we landed because she was really really nervous!
- Okay that took two fucking hours. I am not happy. At least my bag was there and waiting for me. And the guy I got didn't bat an eyelid at the signature thing so I'm a lot less... stressed out.
- IT TOOK ME 10 MINUTES TO FIND KATE AND THERE WAS A MOMENT WHERE I THOUGHT SHE'D LEFT but she hadn't and got me a balloon 8D
- TWO HOUR CAR JOURNEY THROUGH NEW YORK.
- And then I slept.

Also, sorry to anyone who I randomly IMed last night, in black font, but I was asleep, and I got hacked by a bot or something? Kate was sitting up, with me asleep next to her and was getting IMed by me 8|b herp derp. I've changed my password, so hopefully it won't happen again, or else I'll have to move im accounts.
