Let's Do a Meme Instead

Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

And now for some answers...

1 Jazz
Ha! Somehow I knew this would be in here. Jazz... let's see... I love the mech. He's part of me (in that we share a lot of traits, particularly the love of music) and he's someone I want to be like (his patience, and his charm and the fact that he's a lot more outgoing and confident in himself than I am). He inspires me, he's my muse, he keeps me going sometimes.

2 The color purple
It's my favorite color! Especially purple with more shades of blue in it. Y'know, it's an in between color, a mix of warm and cool. I find it comforting. And it's the color of royalty too!

3 Books
I love books. Technology is fine and dandy, but there's something about the feel of picking up a book and turning pages that reading on a screen doesn't have. I love how books can take you to other places, and introduce you to new people and creatures, and tell you their stories. It saddens me when people say they hate reading because I just think about everything they're missing out on.

4 Your thoughts on cosmology
Uhhh.... All I see in the word Cosmology is the word Cosmos - who is one of my favorite Minibots XD. I'm not sure I have any thoughts on this since I've rarely given it any though.

5 If you were a man.
I'd take the opportunity to travel to places that might be unsafe for a woman to travel to alone. I'd try to change the mindset that gentlemen and chivalry don't exist anymore.

6 A trope/cliche you would love to happen in your life
I would love for someone - preferably my girlfriend - to just show up at my doorstep or work place unannounced and surprise me with flowers. I've never received flowers from anyone, to date. And usually I'm the one who does the surprising, so it'd be nice to have someone do it for me.

7 In ten years
I'd like to be living with (and married to) my girlfriend, in our own house or apartment somewhere in a city or suburb, with a cat and dog and car, and we're both doing well in our careers.

1. Romantic comedies/action flicks - debate
Hmmm... not really a big fan of either. It'd have to have an interesting plot and a few actors/actresses I like before I'd watch it. They can both be a little unrealistic, and if I wanted unrealistic, I'd watch a fantasy movie, which sometimes can be a lot more realistic. The irony eh?

Rom-coms in particular, I'm not a fan of how they usually make it look like single women live inferior and incomplete lives until they meet a man. There've been very very few rom-coms I've liked, the majority have just made me roll my eyes. Action flicks... well if I wanted to see big sweaty, dirty men shoot at and pound each other to pulp, I'd watch WWE.

2. Your favorite taste sensation
Sweet. I freely admit I love my sugar, especially when it comes in the form of chocolate. That being said, I love the velvety feeling when dark chocolate melts and coats the inside of your mouth.

3. Music
My life. I would probably wither away and die if I didn't have music around me. Can't function without it. Whether it has lyrics or not, I need to have it because sometimes just the melodies and the sounds and dynamics of various instruments (like violins) can be lyrics in themselves.

4. Last sign you saw that struck you as funny
Hmm... it was quite some time ago, but on the island I work, close to the beaches, there are signs that warn for peacocks. I still giggle when I see them.

5. Favorite color of rose and why
Lavender cos I love purple... but for more traditional colors... I like yellow and peach. They make me smile and they're not as conventional as red ones.

6. Squee about your favorite pairing
Prowl/Jazz from TF, Kurt/Blaine from Glee, Charlie/Justin from Dalton! Pity only one of them is canon. All of them share the "they have their differences, but still work well together" trait.

7. Tell me about that fantasy novel that lives in your head
Wow... lets see... There are unicorns, and noble dragons. There are Tolkien-esque elves/faeries - very tall and graceful, noble. Chivalry exists and is encouraged. Women are respected. People are brave and will fight for the things/people they care about against injustice and oppression.
