Just got done with another book, all 563 pages of it, too. Tried to pace it and read slower but it just got far too interesting in the last third of it to stop, and I think I would have gone nuts if I'd had to stop.
The book was Tamora Pierce's "Beka Cooper: Terrier"... takes place in her Tortallan universe about 200 years before the Alanna "Lioness" quartet. Twas a damn fine read if I say so myself, and for once didn't deal with the nobility. I highly recommend it, but it still wont top the "Protector of the Small" quartet, which is so far my fave out of all her work.
I do maintain that I really like her writing style. Its easy on the eyes and the words and sentences flow smoothly so that you dont have to strain to follow what's going on.
And I still have Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen to read... Well, those two should give me some company on the long train rides, been meaning to read them for a while now.
