Step OFF!
The theme of the week is "You're not hardcore, unless you live hardcore." A wise man once said that. Actually, it was sung... by Jack Black... wise? Perhaps. Depends on who you ask. Hysterical? Definitley.
VBS was hardcore. I never spoke so much hebrew in a church... or in my life for that matter. In case you were wondering, here are some deep spiritual insights... brought to you by the tribe of Gad, mighty warriors. I mean, these are answers to the tough questions in life.
"If Jesus was right here and I could see him, I would probably die. Yeah, I would die." Why? "Because I would just die." OK.
When Jesus was dying on the cross he probably felt... "sick" "sad" "angry" "happy" "dead" (bet you'd never guess that the same kid who said he would die if Jesus were here, said that he would feel dead while dying on the cross)
I liked the happy answer. I'm sure there was joy involved amidst all the pain and suffering. Hard to believe. But scripture does say it was for the joy set out before him that he endured the cross. Wow. I really suck some times. A lot of times actually. And he did that for me... with great joy and love.
The beach is soon. Tomorrow. Everyone here calls it the shore, which it is, but I just call it the beach. Thats what its always been. Where there is sand and water... its the beach.
